Climate control lights

I have a 2004 4runner and two of the 3 climate control lights does not work. I took out the working bulb and placed it in the non working control and it did not work. When I replaced it back in the original slot it worked again, so that makes me think it is something besided the bulbs. I also checked all the fuses i could find on the vehicle and they are all good. What else can I check or how do i fix it?

SOURCE: 97 CAMRY TAIL LIGHTS PROBLEM

You are right you do have a short, but it's easy to fix at the same time it is expensive. In your trunk area you will find a bulb out relay it can be either in the right corner or left corner panel in the trunk area,if not there if may be under the rear deck of the trunk(under the rear window inside the trunk) It might be yellow brown or green. One fron the junk yard will work just as good as a new one.If you are skillful you can open it and solder the burned circuit, but you have to know what you are doing. You also neet to find out if you had a bad bulb that shorted so you can rest knowing that what caused it to burn out in the frist place is fixed.

1985 Cadillac Fleetwood d elegant installing a aftermarket radio lost the lights in the electronic climate control and fuel gauge.. fuse is still good where to look next

next I would check wires going to fuel gauge and climate control .more than likely when you took out radio the wiring might had come loose. if still no lights you can put back old radio and see if you have lights. wiring might be part of all three.then it might be possible those bulbs for fuel gauge and climate control might just have burned out especially being an 85

Replace heater control panel bulbs

1. use old bulbs as samples by gently removing them with a soft cloth.2. Go to autopart shop or walmart, target or Canadian tire and you will find replacement bulbs. 3. Make sure you mark or place each old bulb into an envelope so you know where to put the new bulbs.

How do I change the bulbs that are out on the climate control and also the head light switch on my o4 Dodge Ram, how do I access the bulbs?

For the headlamp switch, you are out of luck unless you want to buy a headlamp switch.

Access the Climate control as follows:
1. Remove the steering column opening cover
2. Open the cup holder and ash tray
3. Remove the one center bezel retaining screw
4. Gently pry out on the center bezel to release the snap-clips and remove the center bezel.
5. The light bulbs can be accessed without removing the climate control from the center bezel

The lights behind the climate control console in 3 of our 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokees no longer work. How is this fixed?

You will have to remove the climate control unit from the dash and change the little bulbs inside it.

No back light in the dashboard

No No. Just a burnt light bulb. You can replace it very easily. The knob on the controls can be pulled of. Use a rag or cloth to protect the knob then pull it out with pliers. Inside the little hole use a small piece of hose that fits over it and the bulb straight out. Just reconize the position of the bulb when you pull it out to align the new on correctly. Using the same pice of hose reinstall it. Then turn on the lights. The bulb will heat up the hose making it expand a little and using a little thin screwdriver or pin hold the bulb in place through the tube and pull off the tube. Then with your finger just make sure the bulb hasn't moved. Reinstall the knob in the same postion (only goes one way) and try the knob and the lights. Everything should work great. The bulb from VW is less than 10$, and is an easy do it yourself. You DO NOT have to remove the heater console to do this.

HEATER LIGHTS IN CONTROL PUSH BUTTONS ON 200 BUCIK LESABRE

I finally replaced the Backlights, using a guide from a person at www.answerbag.com
who wrote:

(i've got an 04 limited. i just soldered in new bulbs for the lighting controls panel (5 #272-1092) and the digital HVAC panel (1 #272-1092 and 5 #272-1154). steering wheel control bulbs are next. )

Just buying a cheap Used one may be the best, if you are not good with dis-assembly and soldering small electric bulbs
Depending on the style you can get a Used One from an online junkyard for 25-50 USD
Check LKQonline out..
http://stores.ebay.com/LKQonline

The most difficult part is getting the Climate Control Module out of the dash, to make the soldering new bulbs repair. The wood-grain Bezel needs to come off, BE CAREFULL, its long and flexible and can crack easy if the wrong pressure is applied or its cold outside or cold in the car cab. Its held in the dash with GM friction clips ( pain in the %$#) and 2 Phillpis screws behing Glove Box door. I worked the pull- pressure from the A/C vent on Right, left-ward to the center, and from Steering Column right-ward toward the center. Once the Bezel is removed, the Climate Control Module is seen, with 4 push-tabs on each corner. BE CAREFULL pushing in the tabs....I broke off one as in pushed too hard. Pry out Right side while pushing 2 right-side tabs gently together. Repeat for the Left Side, while pushing 2 left-side tabs together gently. The Climate Control Module should pop out. Use a 3/8inch Nut Driver to remove the headless screws that hold the Climate Control Module PushButton plate to the box. This will expose the Printed Circuit Board for solder replacement of the Bulbs.

04 4runner-dash light replacement

Open up the storage area under the climate controls. With it open gently pull upwards on it. It will pop out of place and should slide out with a little wiggling. When that is done, you will see the top of a bolt under the climate controls. I believe it is 10mm. take that out. When that is out you will have to pull on the bottom of the climate control panel. It is all one piece and is held in by clamps so it is kind of tight. Mine took a little work but it came out. If you not comfortable doing it then please dont. I dont want to be the reason some thing breaks. It will come out as one unit. You will need to remove the wiring harness from the back. When that is done just look on the back of the unit and you will see the back side of the bulbs. You will need a little flat head screwdriver. the bulbs simply twist and fall out the back side. this also gives you access to the bulbs for the climate controls if those ever go out.
