Factory alarm 97 grand prix

When the theft system light flashes, i have hard time starting the car for a little while. I would like to disable this factory alarm( if possible). The theft system light never came on before, it just started flashing for a short while, ever since this theft system light has came on I'm having hard time starting the car. Is there a way to disable this feature. I do not have the owners manual. Thanks.

1st the system alarm is intagrated into the engine control electronics, it can not be disabled without poss damage to ther systems and controls, 2nd the most common cause of your issue is the sensor in the ignition lock cylinder being defective, this is the most common issue on all GM anti-theft systems.

99 explorer alarm disables. Motor dies

Anti-theft system can keep vehicle from starting , Alarm is for vehicle content theft , open door without key alarm sounds (horns) ! PATS - passive anti theft system PATS enables and disables the engine from starting ,it will not cause the engine to die ! You have some other kind of problem ! If the vehicle engine doesn't turn over an red light on top of dash flashes fast ,then you have anti-theft system problem !
PATS differs from the perimeter anti-theft system in that PATS enables and disables the engine from starting. If equipped, the perimeter anti-theft system protects the perimeter of the vehicle (doors, hood and trunk) and sounds an alarm.

My 1998 Ford Ranger will not crank or start is it the factory alarm or anti theft alarm? How could I fix it myself

Is the security light flashing while trying to start the vehicle ?
The theft warning system provides the vehicle with protection from unauthorized entry into the passenger compartment and engine compartment (hood opening). It also protects against engine starting through ignition keylock cylinder tampering. If triggered, the system provides both audio and visual alarm signals and disables the starter circuit.
Sorry but you will have to take it to the dealer if it's the anti-theft system

How do I relearn the theft system on a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix?

Reset is . Turn the key on for ten minutes, off for thirty seconds. Start the car. Relearn is three times this. Start the car after the third time. Have a battery charger on it. The battery gets to low, you have to start over.

Where is the alarm reset for the anti theft system located at on a 2004 Pontiac grand prix?

start outside your car with all of the doors closed. hold the lock and unlock on your keyfob together until it honks and flashes the lights. get in and turn the key to on, but don't start the car. give it a good 30 seconds until the security lights aren't flashing...you should be able to start after that.

Wrong key used. Possible security issue

You might try locking and unlocking the drivers door with the key, this is sometimes used to disable and re-enable a factory alarm system.

No dashboard power, except radio light, and theft detergent light

try cleaning the terminals, jump starting or use your key to unlock your driver door manually. Perhaps the factory alarm is armed and will prevent the vehicle from starting

The alarm system on your Jeep Grand Cherokee is controlled by a small, approximately 3 inch square box that plugs into wiring under your dash on probably the drives side towards the middle. It is black in color and is printed with the words "alarm module. If you unplug that the alarm system will be permanently disabled and starting issues may be resolved as well.

Try Turn your vehicle on, while its on unhook the alarm box from behind the dash. if you attempt to do this without the vehicle on it will not work. an other solution would be to ground the purple and yellow wire on the drivers side door

My 1998 Grand prix is not starting except when it wants to.

It was the alarm. Although we've never used it, somehow the switch was stuck on, and wasn't allowing us to start the car. it also burned out the ignition switch. Had to completely disable the alarm (removed it completely) and changed the ignition switch.
