SOURCE: 3rd light

This can be done one of two ways first there are two gold screws located in the trunk compartment one of them attaches the wire connection to the actual high bulb assembly this is located in a square hole. The second in in a small hole covered by foam tape these two screws will free up the assembly so you can pull the back of it up then push the front forward there should be a few clips that hold it down. This gives you access to the bulb. The second way is the hard way and more time consuming this is what i did before i figured out the first way. And that is taking your entire cabin apart. So just do it the first.

SOURCE: bulb replacement in hyndai sonata high mounted rear stoplight

Research revealed no available illustration of procedure. If memory serves, there are two 'access' plates on either side of the lamp assy (popped out with small screwdriver) and two phillps screws retaining the assy in place. Remove the access plates (plastic) and the screws behind them.. access is gained.

HOW TO REPLACE HIGH MOUNT BRAKE LIGHT 2002 CADILLAC DEVILLE

The light will be fitted from inside the trunk. You might need to remove any trim or lining on the trunk lid. There will be 5 small nuts on the inside of the trunk lid. 2 each end and one centre. The light should drop out. It could be tight so GENTLY rock it up and down to free it.
** NOTE ** The light fitting is likely to be a sealed unit so you will have to replace the whole light as you cant get access to the bulbs.

Toyota '94 Cover of high-mounted stop light won't come off

The cover under the rear windshield DOES come off and you need to finagle it a bit to get it to come loose. Try to push in on both sides while lifting up and pulling towards you or pushing on the front while pushing up. There are a couple of plastic clips that hold it on, but once you get any one of them to come loose the whole thing will come off, promise!!
