I have a 1999 gmc suburban 4x4. All rear lights and license plate lights are not working. All fuses are good as well as all light bulbs. Any ideas what the problem could be?

The license plate lights get B+ power from headlamp switch . No seprate fuse for those lights , Bulb's good ? Headlamps , park lamps all work ?

check bulb the number plate light runs on the same circuit as the side lights so if they are working its got to be a bad earth on the plate light

If you mean the front daytime running lights, there is a module controlling these under the dash near the headlight switch. As far as your license plate lights are concerned, it is probably a wiring problem at the back of the truck which you should trace from the lights back to the tail lights to see if that's the problem.

ck all fuse in under hood fuse box. RR PRK fuse 10 amps.

the fuse that works the license light is the same fuse that works the tail lights.so if the license light is not working then there is a wiring problem at the back of the truck for the light.check the wire for damage or corrosion were the light wire connects to the truck wiring.or the bulb is no good.also the ground for the light may have a problem.

The fuse labeled REAR PARK LP 15A in the right instrument panel fuse box powers the rear park lamps, and the tag lamps. If your rear park lamps are working then you most likely need to replace the tag lamps (bulbs). Use the following procedure to replace the lamps.

To Remove:

1. Remove the two mounting screws from the license plate lamp.
2. Remove the license plate lamp from the rear bumper fascia.
3. Remove the license plate lamp socket by turning it counterclockwise.

To Install:

1. Install the license plate lamp socket by turning it clockwise.
2. Position the license plate lamp to the rear bumper fascia.
3. Install the license plate lamp mounting screws.

i have a 95 gmc suburban that keeps blowing the fuse when break is aplied i even disconected the back lights and it does the same what could it be

license plate bulbs? these run off of the park lights and that fuse is located in engine comprtment there is a box up around master cylinder area on the left fenderwell

third light is different circuit. saftey reason check fuses grounds wires

you'll see the lights plugged in under rear bmper. grasp the light plug,twist counter clkwise 1/4 turn, pull out plug, pull bulb strait out, push new bulb back in.
