Windstar window clicking

Drivers window just makes a clicking sound from under the dash. It started about 3 months ago and the windows didn't go down for a couple of days. Then all of a sudden, it started working again for a couple months. Now it's just back to clicking. The sound is coming from under the dash.

Do you know what a wiring diagram is ? Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. year ,make , model an engine size . Under system click on body & accessories , then under subsystem click on power windows . Click the search button then the blue link . Do all the other windows work ? just not the drivers window . Do you know how to use a test light or DMM - digital multi-meter to test automotive electrical circuit's ? Looking at the diagram i see the driver window is controlled by a electronic control module . (FEM) Using a factory or professional scanner to check the data inputs from the driver master switch to the (FEM) would be a quick an easy first step in the diagnostic procedure . Pull the driver door panel off an use a test light to check B+ voltage to the motor ,.

Sounds like your window slids are dry and the electric motor is struggling. If you can help the window go down by pulling it down with your hand you can lube it with silicone spray. Or you may have a broken window slide mount.

SOURCE: 98 ford windstar has clicking noise under dash and won't start

The clicking noise is most likly the starter solinoid cycling in and out. This is due to low battery voltage. charge the battery, then have the battery and charging system tested. Some auto supply stores will do this for free for you in the hopes of selling parts

good luck

SOURCE: window stop working

the clicking u can hear is the relay for the window clicking, so i would say thats working, but u can also check with a multi meter, could also be the motor for the window, check all your fuses as it could be that also if its blown a fuse there is ur answer. and clean the window switch.

SOURCE: window in front dont go up or down 99 Ford Windstar

You need to look at the wire harness that comes out of the drivers door and head for the fender. They break wires in ther over the years of constantflexing everytime the door is opened.Strip off the wire loam and tape and check the wires one by one and repair the broken ones.

SOURCE: window relay on 1998 ford taurus clicking sound

check the fuses in the car under the dash on driver side ,only other thing it could be is the power wire in the driver door jam could have a broken ground that is one way it would affect all the windows.

All of my power windows stopped working

Sounds to me like he disconnected something when he was working and didn't connect it back. Under the driver side dash is where the main wires come in for all the electrical components. The main for the windows and door locks is coming down from the driver door and could be disconnected there. all the fuses that work those are under the hood and not inside the car. Let me know what you find out.

Chevy Astro rear window is loose, how do I fix it

Sounds like the glass tech either didn't clean the area good enough, didn't use a good adhesive,or just hurried to much. You can get the stuff you need at a good parts place(NAPA or Carquest are my favorites for professional products).3M adhesives are typically the best.Use a "piano wire" removal tool to take the glass out.Clean everything down to the bare paint with solvent."Glue in" window glass is usually installed with a urethane adhesive in a caulk gun tube.Read the side of the tube, make sure you have any primer it may call for before taking it home.(The manufacturer's instructions are the best to follow-they want you to like their product's results so you'll buy it again!).This IS a job the average gearhead can handle.Hey-the last "pro" you took it to didn't do it right anyway,so what'll it hurt for you to take a shot at it?

Verify if there is spark or not when cranking the engine over. If not, could be the pickup coil inside the distributor-this is what tells the control module what position the crankshaft is in, for delivering spark at the right time.

Yeah sounds like it. You didn't specify the year, make, or model ! Cadillacs have 3 fuse boxes. One on the drivers fender under the hood, one under the drivers dash, and one in the truck on the drivers side.

2001 ford f150 drivers side window does not work , clicking sound

Listen real close under dash when trying other windows, and see if you don't hear faint click with them too. I'm guessing your driver side motor is tired, but perhaps a little lube and some coaching, it will come back again, otherwise door panel will have to come off to try a few things, or replace motor. It's the one that gets most used, so is most likely to give out first.
