Codes P0733 and P0736 on a 2002 Jeep Liberty refer to transmission-related issues. Here's what each code indicates:
P0733 - Gear 3 Incorrect Ratio: This code indicates that the transmission is not shifting into the third gear correctly. It suggests a problem with the gear ratio between the input and output shafts of the transmission when the third gear is engaged. This could be caused by issues such as a faulty transmission solenoid, a worn or damaged gear, low transmission fluid level, or internal transmission problems.
P0736 - Reverse Incorrect Ratio: This code indicates that the transmission is not shifting into the reverse gear correctly. It suggests a problem with the gear ratio between the input and output shafts of the transmission when the reverse gear is engaged. Possible causes could include a faulty transmission solenoid, a damaged or worn reverse gear, low transmission fluid level, or internal transmission issues.
engine swaps are complex as is mixing engines to wrong transmissions.
so both are 3.7L, is that it?
you never said what exacty didnt fit.
the flex plate to TC
or TC to A/T pump side mismatch.
????????
if its the flex then get the correct flex plate.
or call jeep parts? ask them for the right parts
the side of the trans has the trans part number
my guess is all you need is the correct flex plate for engine to TC.
Well code 755 is for a problem with the 2/4 shift solenoid circuit inside the transmission. Someone would need to check out the solenoid and the wiring if and when the problem is constant.
IF YOUR VEHICLE IS A 3,7 4X4 AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION,THEN THE CODE YOU HAVE IS 3RD GEAR RATION INCORRECT. THIS COULD BE BECAUSE YOU HAVE LOW TRANSMISSION FLUID LEVEL- IF YOU HAVE ONLY THIS CODE.- WHAT YOU DO: PUT THE CAR ON A CORRECT GROUND LEVEL,START THE ENGINE PUT THE GEAR BOX TO NEUTRAL POSITION ( NO PARK ) AND CHECK THE LEVEL OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID.SHOULD BE ON THE CORRECT LEVEL.IF IT NEEDS FLUID TOP IT UP WITH THE RECOMMENDED FLUID BY THE MANUFACTURER.CLEAR THE CODE EITHER BY USING A SCANNER OR DISCONNECT THE BATTERY. ( BE SURE IF YOU HAVE A RADIO WITH CODE ) THEN DRIVE IT TO SEE WHETHER THE CODE CONE OR NOT. GOOD LUCK.
No,You need a rebuilt or new transmission,I see this in alot of Jeeps,Even if you maintained the transmission fluid and drove carefully, the transmission itself is a problems.
p0700 is pretty much the generic code for saying the computer that controls your transmission has a problem, it may not be the actual computer its self, but one of its sensores, or a bad wire, i would recomend taking it to a reputable transmission shop
