Locate the filler plug for transmission oil

Most times transmission & engine oil are all together, NO FILLER PLUG for Transmission Oil. Automatic Engine have separate filler plug for Transmission Oil. To get at Transmission filler , car needs to be on a RAMP. It would help if you mentioned Make & Model of Car !

Toyota corolla problems

After checking the easy stuff first like low oil level, if it is high RPM(revs) & shifts hard(lurch when it does shift) then I am thinking the transmission filter & oil need to be changed. The transmission filter acts as a suction screen on an automatic transmission & as it collects contaminants to protect the inner workings of the transmission, it becomes plugged which greatly affects the ability to shift especially the high gears at faster acceleration.

How to check the transmission fluid

have the transmission oil hot. place in "D" with the hand brake on tight and idle. pull dip stick and the level should be on hot oil level.. It should be a bright cherry red as if it is tan or brown then there is a need to change the oil and have a pressure test done on the gear box as it is burning the oil from overheating

AT Oil Temperature is probably "Automatic Transmission".You may need a transmission flush(do not confuse this with a fluid and filter change).Or,it could be a bad sensor or trans thermostat.

Trying to find the exact location on my car to add my transmission fluid i have automatic 2007 suzuki frenza my chek engine light is on

Open up your bonnet and look at the very back of the engine and you should see a long tube with a colored handle sticking out, also the check engine light can also be the engine oil so on either side of the engine you should see the same thing as the transmission handle. Its best to check both the transmission & engine oil/fluid by pull out each one by one when the engine is off and cold then get a rag and wipe off the oil/fluid on the longs metal sticks and putting them back in & out to see how much oil/fluid they have.
On both sticks they have a add more & max level lines so if the oil/fluid is on the add more line, add more oil/fluid to them to get it on the max line.
Remeber that the transmission oil/fluid goes to the back stick behind the motor and the motor oil/fluid goes to the side one. Good luck.

How to add transmission fluid to 1992 325i BMW? I once read about this car having 2 pans. Can not find where the article is now. There is a ATF cap to the drivers side but it is a very short stick. One guy...

Why do you want to add it? Wipe the dipstick on clean white paper towel or cloth. If there are no leaks and the colour is still fairly bright it should be ok. If there are no leaks and the transmission is slipping it needs to go to a dealer or tranny shop.

I have a 2003 standard toyota corolla, i cant find a dipstick for the transmission fluid. is there one? and i had my transmission changed about 4 months ago on a road trip, paid cash, so therefore cant...

there will be no dipstick for a standard transmission, only automatic.an easy way is to go through a drive through oil change place,& ask them to check it. Or get a shop manual for that car, or you could crawl under the car & locate the filler plug on the transmission.remove the plug & add oil once the oil starts too run out of the fill plug it is full.

Trans does not want to respond in reverse & o/d light is flashing

With high mileage automatic transmissions, that have not been regularly replacing the transmission oil, it can cause major problems if you do change the oil. The sealing integrity in the valve block can be lost by flushing with new oil,
Firstly, just check and make sure the oil level is correct. Do this by running the engine, with your foot on the brake, go through all the shift positions 2-3 times, holding in those positions for a few seconds each time. Then put into park , still with the engine running, and check the oil level . if its a little low, add a small amount at a time till you get the correct level, each time going through the shift positions and then checking.
