Replace/clean headlight lens - 1998 Buick Century

Both headlight lenses look cloudy and at night the headlights does not seem that bright. I purchased and used a headlight lens cleaning kit that did not do much. It seems the problem i son the inside of the lens.

1. How can I remove the lens and can it be cleaned?

2. If not, can I just purchase a replacement lens instead of the entire headlight unit?

thanks,

Ben

You probably just need to get the right kit. Go to Crystalenz.com on their website is a Buick Century that had really bad lenses. I know it works because I'm the one who cleaned those headlight lenses. You can email or call the owner and he can help you with your problem.

Wash your headlights well using soapy water; rinse and dry. Dip a corner of your soft rag in denatured alcohol, which you can find at most paint or hardware stores. Rub the solution on your lens in small, circular motions. Repeat until your headlights lose some of their yellow hue.

Remove haze inside headlights 2003 buick century

Are you sure it is inside? I don't think the assemblies can be dismantled, since they are a sealed unit. I don't know of any that can be taken apart, so a problem on the inside of the lens would require replacement. But any store with an auto shelf or section stocks headlight lens polishing kits for cleaning the outside of the lens or assembly and bringing them back to new condition.

NEED JUST THE LENSES FOR MB',, 2003 320M LIGHTS ARE FINE , BOTH LENSES ARE HAZY AND BAD

The lens is not sold separately, you must replace the whole assembly. This assumes you are talking about the headlight lens.

A bird flew into my headlight and broke it. There is a hole in it but the light still seems to be working. Can I just replace the cover or does the whole headlight need to be replaced. How much does it...

You cannot just replace the headlight lens. The headlight is an assembly and the entire assembly must be replaced. You can get one on the internet at many sites. You may want to replace them both if the lens has become cloudy and hazy or your vehicle will look odd with one shiny clean lens and one cloudy lens. They are not that expensive on this sire at $42.

My headlights are really dim at night. But everyone says there fine. what should i do?

The headlights on my Tahoe are dim too. It's also a 1999. I replaced my bulbs with Silverstar's but it was still dim. I used Mequiar's Headlight kit to polish off the yellowing and oxidized headlight's and it really made them look good but they are still not bright. They look bright but the light hitting the road is still weak. It's because the inside of my headlights are a little bit cloudy still. The heat damage from the bulb made the insides cloudy and the light is still weak on the road at night. That's all I can do unless I replace the headlight assemblies. Much money and not super simple to do. I have very bright bulbs just cloudy housings that still don't allow the beam to fully shine through. I don't know if that is your issue but I hope this helps.
