2000 Xterra Brake Lights

My brake lights on each side are not working. I checked the bulbs and they are fine and the fuse is fine as well. I don't know where to go from here.

Well I've spent 45 minutes under there trying to find this switch and could not see anything that came close to resembling a switch

2004 honda crv brake lights don't work

Did you check the fuses with a test light? A fuse can look OK, but unless you test continuity or use a test light, you could be mislead.

My manual shows fuse #28 , a 15 amp fuse powers the brake bulbs. Is this the one you changed?
A bulb can be out for a long time and you don't notice it,then the other burns out and you think they both went out at the same time, but they might not have, see?
So check the bulbs and make sure you got that brake switch installed correctly. don-ohio (:^)

No lights!

Pull your fuses and check to see if they are brown or black. (One at a time) Replace any that are brown. Post again if this is not the problem. They are cheap, $5.00 for 10 or so.

Brake lights went out, changed bulbs, checked fuse, still wont work

You have to check the brake light switch which should be around the brake pedal on the upperside.
Ones located rremove the wires tht go to the switch and jump them by using a piece of wire, thn check if the brake lights come 'on'. If they do , thn its the switch tht may need replacing or even sometimes adjusting inorder to operate.
Hope this helps.
