My key doesn't turn in the ignition, its automatic and the shifter and wheel wont move either. Everything is locked how do I unlock it? help pls?

when you shut it off were the wheels cranked sideways-sometimes this puts pressure on the locking system and won't let it disengage-try moving the steering wheel back and forth while applying pressure to the key-I hope this helps-cheers Denny

Sounds like you need a new ignition

Does the key work on the door lock? If does you must have bad ignition cylinder

A few things to check before getting pro help: If your car is an automatic, Make sure your transmission is really in park - you may have to move the shifter into Neutral then back properly and that should unlock it. If that is not it, check if the steering wheel auto locked (it is a safety feature). If it is, you should have the slightest bit if wiggle room and try turning the wheel the same time you are trying to turn the key off to pull it out. If your key is already in the off position and the key is really stuck, you will need to call a locksmith to take the lock out of the column as the tumblers may be damaged.

turn the steering wheel counter clockwise (to your left) forcefully. while holding the steering wheel, insert the key in the ignition switch and try to turn it on, if the key wont move, try to **** the steering wheel repeatedly while try to turn on the engine every ****.

Turn the steering wheel hard left and try turning key. If it doesn't move, try the right side. If that fails, try pushing the gear Hirt lever forward -it should be in PARK. If it is in PARK, push forward on shifter and turn key. Last option, pry the small (1/2" x 1/2") access panel off the frame around the gear shift. There should be a button under it. Push the button and turn the key. Good luck

Try banging on the shifter, if this works, spray some silicone spray into the shifter at the release button (the cable from the shifter to the ignition lock sticks sometimes). If this doesn't work, you may have to replace the ignition lock. It is held in with 2 breakoff bolts that have to be drilled out.

Did you pull ******* the steering wheel on the direction that it is locked? Usually rare... But I have seen the springs go bad with the tumblers in the key cylinder. You could attempt to thump under the key cylinder to attempt to bounce the tumblers while moving the key back and forth.

your steering wheel lock is connected to ignition in column, pull hard on steering wheel in direction wheels are turned at the same time turn key, this should free them both up.

Normally you need to step down on the brake pedal to release the key and shifter.
