Auto-reverse cassette I'm trying to use a cassette adapter for an iPod in my 1997 Toyota Avalon. The cassette player keep automatically reversing. I removed the auto-reverse component in the cassette, but it only transmits sound in one direction. The auto-reverse on the cassette player keeps switching the cassette to the wrong direction, no matter how many times I push the button to make it go in the correct direction. I couldn't find anything on how to turn off auto-reverse in the owners manual. PLEASE HELP!!!

SOURCE: well i have a car model toyota corolla x 2004 auto

Hi

When the check engine light comes on and then goes off after a while, means that the computer in yur car is detecting a problem that is not present all the time, this is called a -soft code- once the computer doesn't detect the problem, resets itself and the code is erased from memory and the check engine light goes of.

While the light is on, take the vehicle to an Autozone store, they will get the computer trouble codes and give you a print out of the problem. Like I said, It is important that you take the vehicle while the light is on, otherwise they may not detect the trouble.

Good luck

1997 Toyota Celica automatic. The reverse gear not engaging. What to do to fix please?

Question edited for clarity.

It has a shift solenoid issue. Take it to a transmission specialist or an auto electrician for diagnostics on a pro-grade scan tool.

How do i replace radio cassette player with a cd player mazda 6 2002

Don't replace it. Go to Walmart and buy an adapter. It is usally at the check out somewhere and It cost about $5.00. It has a cassette that goes into the cassette player. Then you plug your ipod or whatever into the attached wire. Doesn't look cool but it works and it is inexpensive. The adapters with the cd player attached skip (we had one 20 years ago) so just buy the new kind of adapter for less and play all your up to date gadgets. Put your cd songs on your ipod or iphone. Our son uses one in his truck with his little ipod shuffle. No cd player needed.

Hey I went to start my 97 toyota avalon today and it wouldn't even turn over none of the lights would come on or anything..... What's wrong with my car lol

First try jumping the vehicle. If it won't jump you you need to check the main buss fuse in the power distribution box (Should be a 40 amp). If that is good check for a grounded positive going to the starter where metal contact with the wire may have worn a hole in the insulation. If both are good and the inline fuse from the positive is not blown pull the alternator and have it and the Voltage regulator checked at Auto Zone, Advance auto or Pep Boys. One if these is going to be the problem.

1995 Saab 900S Left speaker doesn't work when using tape player

sounds like the cassette adapter has a bad channel, or didn't fully seat into place. Try removing and re inserting, to play the other side of the adapter if the wires will allow it. Then auto reverse the cassette deck to allow a different portion of the cassette head to be used for the signal. Those cassette adapters are poor quality, and put alot of time on the mech.
