My 1998 Camry will not start, battery is okay and it just cranks but really doesn't act like it wants to start. All electronics seem okay....lights, radio, etc.
Any suggestions. Engine just seems like it doesn't want to fire at all!

For 3 years, clock had no light. Now no clock shows at all. When car is cold radio sputters and crackles so I turn it off. Just the other day, even when radio is off, sputtering or crackle noises are coming from the back speakers. More noises when I signal, the noise coincides with the signal light flashing. Had to get a new battery. Diagnostics say no parasitic draining of battery. Radio played for a few Km's today then quit no reason that I can tell. Obviously it's electrical but where is the problem?

07 malibu wont start, not turning over

Check your battery terminals and battery.
If the terminals are corroded or loose then this will happen.
If need be, remove the terminals from the battery and clean thoroughly both terminals and terminal clamps. Fit them back on and tighten.
Try starting the car, if it starts and all is good, spread vasoline, or some grease over the terminals to prevent it from corroding. If it doesn’t start then the battery will need replacing. If you have a multi meter check the voltage first. Anything under 11.5 volts will not start this car.

Toyota Camry wont start 1994 doesnt click over

This could be -

- dying battery. The most common cause. You might hear a click from the starter solenoid, or not, but no cranking.

- worn starter solenoid contacts. Here the battery is good, but no cranking.

- bad ground from the battery to the engine. Clean the terminals at both ends of this cable.

- defective starter or solenoid. Replace rather than repair, it is just as cheap.

Does the engine crank? Kinda confussed why the starter was tested and the distributor replaced. Take it that you have the 2.2 engine in it?

98 ford explorer wont turn over, changed altenator and battery, fuel pump, cranky sensor and filter, still wont start

If the Brake pedal switch is the sensor you are referring to, then my solution is redundant. If not, then it is probably your problem. Check your brakelights by pressing the brakes. The signal is needed to allow the engine to crank.

This is a safety type lockout. The idea is to prevent runaway starts. They want to insure that your foot is on the brake before you try starting the engine or putting the vehicle in gear. This part is often hit by a Drivers feet and broken or shifting out of position.

99 3.8 camaro wont fire.

Clean your battery terminals. When you jump start it you are connecting straight to the terminals. You are losing voltage between your battery post and the battery terminals. When you take the terminals off, you can clean everything with battery terminal cleaner. It is a spray that most all auto supply stores have. Before you put the terminals back on, put some dielectric grease on them, also available at parts stores.

Wont start

Check startermotor.
Possibly brushes are worn down close to end limit so they don't make decent contact on comutator when you try starting. Also the solinoide could be faulty

Change starter on 97 chev malibu

Check and load test battery. If good, use a volt meter across both terminals.. when.cranking, volts should not drop below 9.5. If it does, replace starter. No valid starter test can be done unless battery has been proven to be good.
