Turn off heater/air conditioner and accelerate briskly. If noise does not occur problem is probably a regulator in the heater/air conditioning system located under the dash.

my good friend I believe the solution I give might be not good for you as to what you state It sounds that you are loosing your automatic gear box. Have you ever changed the oil & filter of your Gear box? If not that was the reason.

you muffler may have a hole in it some place

if you didnt change the oil and filter that could be a problem or it may be low on ol

have the tyres checked as i think you may have a deformed tyre ,its front wheel drive by the way

air leak i think on or around the turbo air intake ,or a split in the intercooler caused by a flying stone

we have 2002 passat tdi auto...the brake light on the dash has started flashing when we put it in park with a kind of clicking noise. any ideas?

sound like turbo noise its close to egr valve.

possibly. i would get the wiring checked out by an electrician.
