I had the same problem so i started with the cheapest option that was to dismantle the key fob, I then looked at the chips with a jewellers loop and found that 2 of the legs soldered to the board were seperated, so i soldered them back and its been fine since. cost nothing.

Its a renault what else do you expect burn it and claim insurance and while its burning give the dammed frogs a agincourt salute.its dealer only for just about anything electrics on these pieces of doggy doo as encrypted software used .but try this first lock and unlock door 3 time slowly then jump in quick and try to start within 15 secs .if this doesnt work the hold the trip meter knob down and turn ign on and wait ,after about 40 secs the dash will all light up and it will do a self diagnostics ,then if you lucky it might start .if none of this works go back to plan one .....BURN IT

Renault kangoo 1.5dci van will not crank no immobiliser light flashing and starter motor just been replaced and to reprogram the key code do you hold the lock or unlock button on the centre consol

its probably a break in the loom between the battery and starter motor, if you are sure it isn't the immobiliser, try running a live straight from the battery to the starter, MAKE SURE THE CAR IS NOT IN GEAR!! otherwise you could have a nasty accident, If the starter turns and the car starts then you know its a wiring problem, if the car doesnt start and was working before then it will be the immobiliser, as for programming the key, all that is for , is the central locking , the immobiliser chip in the key can only be programmed with specialist equipment
