They usually stick in Park!

How to repair stuck shifter problem on your Ford Explorer

Hi. this is normally the break light switch.

try pushing the knob down onto the shifter a little bit then try and shift. Sometimes if that knob is raised even a little bit it will be locked in park. Can't be 100% sure without seein it but worth a shot. Hope that helps you.

insert the ignition key,switch to ignition and step on the brakes, before shiftingpress the release button in the shifter to release

change the brake light switch

remove the rubber cover on the right side of the shifter. there is a pink tab press it down with a long screw driver if it still down not come out of park replace the shifter the interlock spring is broken. Hope this helps please rate if it does.
