92 Maxima Putters and sometimes even no gas sometimes

I have a 92 Maxima DOHC but the problem: Its putters really bad only while on the gas or sitting still. When decelerating the car is normal. It starts right up everytime. Sometimes while im driving down the road ill be on the gas and all of the sudden I have no gas. Ill put it to the floor and nothing but car is still running and after a couple seconds it will just start going again. Sometimes the car will even stall for no reason while im driving. The first time any problems occured i was driving and was making a left turn behind somebody that was driving extremely slow and it just started puttering. The first day the car stalled i couldnt start it for about 20 minutes untill i got a bar and hit the bottom of my gas tank and gave it a little gas before i tried starting it and it started right up.I replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, oil and oil filter. I just ordered a fuel pump but not sure if that is even the problem. Anybody have any suggestions where to start?? Somebody please Help me.

Yes I can help you. Change your coolant temperature sensor and all will be well. Only use Nissan, Bosch, or NGK part.

Vehicle idles good, give it gas and it pist and putters and back fires

Depending entirely on what your UNREVEALED vehicle actually is, and it's year, make and model, you could have a defective throttle position sensor, or the camshaft could be out of time, or a defective timing belt or chain, or you could have a defective coil or coil pack, or even contaminated gasoline ... or bad plug wires!

2001 audi allroad puttering, then dying when give it gas.

Sounds like dirt made it's way to the fuel pick up from sitting on an angle. You can try removing the sender through the rear seat to detect a clog and or the fuel filter underneath. Honestly..... have it towed to reputable repair shop or dealer for evaluation.

My 2001 alero shakes at stop lights dies from time to time and when the light turns green it looses powers sort of like a drag

  • Sounds like you have some really fouled plugs. I would start with a tune up or plugs and wire at least. When your plugs, or even one plug, get fouled it creates a misfire and when at a stop light etc the cars will shake a bit and almost feel like it wants to **** a bit. Then when taking off it putters and lacks proper accelerations abilities.

  • Also make sure to use good gas as bad gas will cause some sluggishness too.

  • Hope this helps.

I have a 90 accord lx/dx.I replaced fuel filter, air filter and now the car won't stay running and once it does start after running it about 2 blocks if you let off the accelerator it putters like...

Have your engine scoped out by a reputable service shop. Was it running better before you replaced those items? Have you done a tune up lately? Did you buy bad gas? Are your fuel injectors clean? Is the fuel pump going out on you? Are your spark plugs and spark plug wires good? Are their any sensors that may need replacing? I have a 1990 Honda Accord and the car just wants to keep taking my money. It needs too much love to keep any more.
