This clicking is only one time.....not every day....normally it occurs first thing in the morning when i leave....i start the car, back up 20 feet out of my drive way and i hear this click when i put my foot on the brake....if i dont hear it, as i shift into drive and down the street 40 feet to the stop sign and brake, i may hear it here...you never hear it or it never happens when your driving at all...the rest of the day even as i drive and brake, it may never occur again....
But some days i may just leave the house, park at the store for 10 minutes and when i start to leave and brake, i hear it...i sounds like it might be loose as i brake but i dont hear anything else...

may be the head gasket, check the oil filler cap for lime creamy deposit & if you can see the water throught the top up filler cap a red/blue discolouration on the top layer of water shows if oil is getting into the water system. either of those two test's mean's the head gasket need's changing, if not then change the thermostat, they usually stick closed from starting & cook the engine in minutes but you never know, anything in the cooling system could be causing this, a blockage or the water pump......
Hard problem to diagnose, I'd have to be there, but hope that help's..
