But vehicle used with 2 owners before me .I've been to a few audio stores and showed them under the back were it appears a wireharness is missing . I was maybe at one point the stock system may have been taken out and after market audio put in and switched back to stock before i bought it.

First question , is it a FACTORY alarm or an AFTER MARKET alarm. Regardless, I haven't met an alarm yet, that protects the radio.. My guess is, that if it is an aft/market alarm, inadvertantly placed the system in the "VALET" where it doesn'i work. Let me know if you disconnected battery, and are there alarm toggle switches.

The amps are on each of the speakers. There is a place in Florida that will fix them for around $85.00 each plus shipping. I put a sony unit in mine and replaced all of the speakers with the kicker ds series for less than fixing the bose system.

hi, the first thing you need to check is the fuses if these are all good then the chances are its shorted out and the whole unit will need replacing.

Use an ohmmeter and test the wiring to the amp and then from amp to speaker to find out where the fault is.

If the system you bought is marked BOSE, it does not have any onboard amplifier power. The only powered radios for the Catera are units which only have AM/FM/Tape, all the CD units are Bose systems which used separate amps mounted on a tray in the trunk.
