Sounds like it could be a cpule things, i would start with replaceing the fuel filter and re-testing if that yeilds no change unplug the fuel presure regulator or if posible temp clap off the return line and check presure again, if it comes up to where it needs to be then replace the regulator. finnaly if none of those things solve it i would be very suspect of your fuel pump modual. good luck! let me know if i can be of further help, please rate my answer take care

2006 Ford F-150 5.4 engine: code P0191 fuel rail pressure sensor circuit range / performance

First step is to change the fuel filter and test the car. If the problem still occurs: The fuel pump driver module was corroded through from salt and was malfunctioning. Bought a new one and runs great. Problem fixed. See pictures below:

This is why salt destroys cars.

P0191 code on a 2006 Ford E450 V10 Uhaul van.

Remove the T connector and vacuum line at the fuel pressure sensor and direct connect the original vacuum line directly into the fuel pressure sensor. You can find this at the end of the fuel line up near the fuel rails. This T and vacuum extension line serves the A post "fuel economy gauge"... you don't need it. The tee and extension can cause vacuum leaks causing the P0191 fault.

Hi. I have a 2003 Ford Focus LX. A few weeks ago, I was driving back to Florida from South Carolina. About six hours into the drive, my car stopped accelerating. I would push down on the gas pedal and...

Diagnostic Test code (DTC) P0191 has a generic description which reads "Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP)Sensor Circuit Performance"

This code sets when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is monitoring the fuel rail pressure sensor signal under certain driving conditions. The FRP sensor varies return voltage to the PCM to indicate the fuel pressure at the fuel rail on the engine. DTC P0191 sets when the voltage received from the FRP is above or below the expected "range" or "threshold".

The possible causes of this code are:

> High fuel pressure
> Low fuel pressure
> Damaged Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (FRP)
> Excessive resistance in FRP circuits.
> Low or no fuel

With all of that said, I would recommend that if you have more than 30,000 miles on your current fuel filter, I would try that FIRST. Replace the filter and clear the code. If the code returns, then diagnostics will need to be performed to find the actual cause.

Check engine light

Go here and it will tell you how to get your codes. Actually on an 06 you can just turn the ignition on and off 3 times (dont crank the engine) and the codes will show up on your odometer. But here are all the codes. PS you can get a manual on pdftown.com for free too.
