Eng. controller Fuse keeps blowing when I turn the ignition on to start my car

I was driving down the road when the Car sputtered then started going again a few moments later the car died, I figured it was the fuel pump the car still cranks over. when you turn the ignition on ,usaully you hear the fuel pump turn on and energize the fuel system, thought it was that untill I foumd that a fuse in the PDC (power distribution center was blown 20A Eng control fuse which blows out every time i turn the key on It does not bow before that

Have not checked the wiring to the starter,When i turn it on and try to start it the starter does engage, so that would be why i did not check, but i will do that now, just to check to make sure

Checked wiring to starter is fine , No groung on exhaust all connected no breaks in wire ,checked o2 sensors do to another suggestion (wiring) no wires resting on exhaust and no burnt areas , any ideas would be great

Next suggestion online was unplug fuse for fuel pump inside the car to see if the fuse blows ,It did not blow ,Next check i did was check to see if my scanner would find any codes that it might have put up when it died , well it has a communication error next step is to check the PCM connections , If any one has any other ideas i would love to hear them

Also tried another suggestion was to remove the fuel pump relay then turn the key on and see if the fuse blows (eng. control fuse) and it blew as soon as i turned on the ignition with the fuel pump relay out, will keep posting untill a solution is found, any ideas are welcome

Have you checked your wiring to starter? It sounds like the power wire going to starter has loosened up.That would cause fuse to blow and also the way you described that the car died. Or even check to see that the red wire going to starter hasn't gotten dinged or melted by the exhaust. Anything that would cause it to short out.

SOURCE: starter enabler fuse blows which means the starter motor does not work until fuse is changed

It is possible that the starer is pulling too much amperage- 1st thing you need to do is find out what if any other consumers are on that circuit, 2nd you need to find out how much amperage is being consumed by the starter. 3rd test you wires most likely if a wire problem it is the heavy hot wire on the starter or the back of the alternator has a loose retaining nut

Air bag light is flashing. Car then sputters

It is a short in one of the ignition wire, car start, and while drive wire get hot and in
short circuit, drain the battery and posible burn the diodes in the alternator.

Not sure what you mean by eng mod fuse. What's the year, make and model? What's the description of that fuse in the owner's manual?

Ignition coil or Ignition control module I would look towards the ignition control module.I had a 91 cavelier do the samething exact same and i tried everything to try and fix it,it turned out that it was the ignition control module. There will be 2 coils mounted onto that plate. It ran good till it warmed up,once warmed up it would stall and spitt and sputter,if left for awhile would start up and go good untill it warmed back up.Once the module would get warm it would quit working untill it cooled down

ENG CONT FUSE BLOWS CONSTANTLY

check the wire harness to the ecm... which is located under the radio... if you , like I , live in a wet / snowy climate... the water /ice from your boots melts and collects near the harness. Maybe it corroded a wire and is causing it to short?
