AC compressor not kicking on. Clutch does not engage when AC turned on. I pulled the sensor and closed the circut to test. When closed the clutch would activate when AC turned on so I figured it was a low freon issue. When I attempted to charge system it refused to take freon and pressure stayed at around 35 psi which sounds like normal range. So I am stumped. Any ideas?
AC will not run unless the clutch is energized. You got it to engage by jumping power line. Check to see if there is a relay in the circuit that gets power to the clutch. 35PSI at 3000 rpm at 75 degrees ambient is about right. How about checking the AC on/off switch? Get a schematic and chech any component in the power trail to the clutch.

Hello maddaddy23...if the low pressure switch on your villager is not stuck open, check the compressor clutch coil it could be open (shorted or loose), Check the climatic control switch... and last but not least make sure compressor operation has not been interrupted by ECM...
Good luck...i hope this helps

you may need to top up the coolant,r112,r140or what ever the car is useing. if the car can'nt be topped up then you have a leak that needs to be fixed, usually the drier.
