The parking brake light comes on and goes off periodically, and it has nothing to do with me setting the parking brake. It just happens while I'm going down the street. Kind of annoying, but not a big deal.
Go to the vehicle, raise the hood. Observe the level of brake fluid in the reservoir in the master cylinder (plastic bottle in front of the driver side firewall)...Look at the side of the plastic bottle...if the fluid is low, this will cause the brake light on the dash to blink on & off. There is a sensor in the cylinder reservoir, that measures the volume of brake fuid. As the brakes wear, the fluid level drops proportionatly. If you have low fluid, you may need some front brakes. Get the brakes checked. If you add fluid, just ot make the light go out, please understand that when you DO get new front brakes, the fluid that you added will be squeezed out of the cylinder, and it will get all over the paint in the engine compartment. Brake fluid damages paint. Hope this helps, and Thanks for choosing FixYa.
The graciousness of a FixYa rating would really be appreciated on my solution to you. Thanks.
