It won't turn over. Sounds like it isn't an electrical problem, since jumping the battery doesn't help. The lights come on and it beeps, but it won't start. We thought it was the starter but autozone said it is just fine. I started thinking it is the clutch sensor. Help?
It's called the clutch start switch. Yes, it could be bad or needs adjustment.
Push the clutch in and the switch closes contact, so power flows from the ignition switch start position to the clutch switch and on to the starter motor-well, actually to the starter solenoid on the starter motor. If you have a voltmeter or test light, you can test the clutch switch . A red and white wire to it and a red wire from the switch to the starter solenoid. When this wire gets to the solenoid, it is a black wire with red stripe. It should have voltage when key is held in start position and the clutch pedal is depressed.

sounds like the battery is way under power,or the starter motor is the wrong one count the number of teeth on the pinion 9 or 11.put battery on a trickle charge for at least a week to de sulphate the plates or a nice new one and put that on charge as well as often batterys are on the shelf for a long while and need a recharge ,but only a slow charger no booster as this can buckle the plates

Yes, All the years of the ZX2 utilize the same engine. 1998-2003 are all the same except for ECU programing and the MAF wiring. You should not have a problem.
