Merc E270 cdi (W211) gearchane vibration

Hi

My Merc E 270 CDI ( W211) vibrates during gearchange ( between 2nd and 3rd gear ) when driving slowly ( +- 40km /h ) . no vibration on other gears and high speed .

What could be the problem ... Pleeeeeez Help

I have exactly the same problem,2002 e270 cdi, only happens in2nd gear at low speed like you say +/- 30 to40 kph then disapears,al gear changes normal. Let me know if you get more info.Leon Roux Durban South Africa.

on my 2002 E270 CDI I have a different problem. The car vibrates when i bring it to a stop. This vibration increases with the engine warming up and not the other way around.

look to see if the trunk activation button is stuck down..if you dont use it.. disconnect it if need be..if it becomes an issue or pull the fuse for it..

There is usually a fuse box in the spare wheel compartment, there is also one under the rear ,Owner's manual indicates fuse position

i found the solution to same problem here.

it was a easy fix, broken wires in the boot a common fault with mercedes.

My Mercedes ML 270 cdi ABS etc lights and gearbox.

you need a Brake safety switch replaced.This is located behind you brake pedal.it's a common problem. The warning lights will reset after a few engine starts.

E270 cdi trunk lock does not work with the remote and inside trunk lights and the number plate lighgts do not work

I had a similar problem on my e270 cdi and fixed this by earthing the 3rd brake light . This has solved the problem . No more errors like : 3dr brake light and numbret plate light malfunction ...
