Where is the starter at on this truck?{1998 s10 truck}

Your 1993 S10 can only be lowered by using drop spindles or lowering springs.

Raise the front of the car up as high as possible with a floor jack and then support it with jack/safety stands, now disconnect the negative battery cable. The starter is located on the front drivers side of the engine underneath, make a note of where all the wires go on the starter posts, THIS IS IMPORTANT, tagging them is a good idea. Now remove the two bolts that hold the starter into the transmission bell housing and drop starter out. When you reinstall the starter torque the starter bolt's to 40 foot pounds and do not over tighten the nuts on the starters wire posts.

Starter is located underneath the intake manifold on the back side of the engine. It is bolted into the bell housing of the transmission so that the gear on the starter meshes with the ring gear. Tough to get to, especially if you do not have a lift.

Everyone can find the battery. With the hood up and standing in front of the car look down and to the left of the battery. That big bell on its side shaped metal thing is the bell housing. Follow it around to the rear of the engine.

Easy fix my friend.

1. Unhook the battery
2. Raise and support the truck on jack stands.
3. The starter is located on the drivers side at the front of the tranny.
4. Grab an 8mm and a 13mm wrench.
5. Remove the power wires from the starter.
6. Remove the starter by removing the top bolt 9/16 i believe and the bottom nut. Also 9/16 or 5/8.
7. Carefully slide it out toward the front of the engine.
8. Installation is the same as removal.
