Also a heat failing ignition module , coil or crank sensor could do this .

Have the codes scanned and post them here. Could be fuel or spark related . A clogged cat or muffler can strangle the engine down on power .

Hi
Have you had a fuel filter changed?
Try that first.
Thanks

SOURCE: just hit 180,00mi and battery and brake light diming

Have the battery tested and the alternator tested, the other issue may have a code stored to help point in the right direction, at that many miles things are bound to wear out.

SOURCE: Nissan March K11-warning alarms and engine stops

I have a 2001 xterra, 120K miles. Had serpentine belt replaced. About a day later, began to feel like car was misfiring, bucking, jerking. Back to mechanic, Codes for knock sensor and P0325Midfire showed up. Replaced spark plugs, fuel filter, knock sensor (with manifold gasket), added Techtron. Still same problem. Went back for plug wire set, distributor rotor, distributor. Mechanic said fuel pressure fine. Still same problem, but now stalls out too. No codes come on now. I'm about out of money, and car even worse off than before. Any suggestions? Thank you!

SOURCE: I have a 2005 nissan Altima 4 cylinder. My check

OK. I HAVE THE SAME VEHICLE AND HERE IS THE LIST OF FIXES...

THE NO START OR MULTIPLE CRANKS TO GET STARTED IS CAUSED FROM A FAULTY KNOCK SENSOR, $29.00- LOCAL AUTOPARTS STORE- ONE BOLT THAT HOLDS IT IN PLACE. -----------LOCATION...OPEN THE HOOD AND LOOK DOWN TOWARDS FRONT OF VEHICLE- LOOK AT WHERE THE TRANSMISSION AND THE MOTOR MEET ROUGHLY 6-10 INCHES TO YOUR RIGHT OF THE MATING POINT YOULL SEE A WIRE THAT CLIPS TO AN ARM THAT EXTENDS OFF THE EXAUST MANIFOLD. CANT MISS IT- THERE WILL BE ONE BOLT HOLDING IT ON AND ITS A SIMPLE PIECE OF BLACK PLASTIC ABOUT AN IN AND A HALF WIDE - THERE WAS A RECALL- ALSO THE ECM NEEDS TO BE UPDATED IF YOU HAVENT ALREADY DONE SO. IT MAY HAVE JUST GOTTEN SOME OIL ON IT (OR AT LEAST THATS WHAT THE DEALERSHIP WILL TELL YOU)

NOW IF YOU WERE CRUISIN DOWN THE HWY AND ALL THE SUDDEN FELT LIKE CAR DOWNSHIFTED OR SLIPPED OUT OF GEAR-- VERY BAD!! I REPLACED TRANSMISSION - ONLINE COST--$200.00 -$125.00 FREIGHT-$80.00 FOR CASE OF MATIC D TRANSMISSION FLUID ONLY AT DEALERSHIP. LITTTLE OVER 100.00 BUCKS MAKE SURE THAT YOU OR SHOP COMPLETELY FLUSHES ENTIRE SYSTEM --ITS BETTER TO SPEND MORE MONEY ON THE EXTRA FLUID THAN BUY AND REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION 2 TIMES. MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE RIGHT AMOUNT AND PROPER TYPE. IF YOU USE ANY OTHER TYPE THAN MATIC D YOUR CAR WILL VIBRATE WITH A LOAD ON MOTOR. AS FAR AS PLUGS WIRES ETC NO NEED TO CHANGE. VERY COMPLICATED VEHICLE SO TAKE TO SHOP OR BUY THE ALL DATA SUBSCRIPTION HAS ALL INFO ETC. VERY GOOD INVESTMENT. IM NOW AT 140.000 AND SHE COULDNT BE BETTER

Emission light lamp

The Engine light is a generic indicator that some component or part of a system is not functioning correctly; could be fuel, emissions, ignition, etc. Auto Zone or Advance Auto will scan the vehicle for trouble codes for free. These codes will indicate where the problem is.

Need to know what the stored trouble codes are. Most Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts stores will scan vehicle for free & give you the stored trouble codes. Once you get them post it here & we will help you locate the problem.

EMC DASH LIGHT IS ON

In my pulsar 89, the ECM light comes on sporadically, its been checked and we're pretty sure it doesnt mean anything, there's a fault somewhere in the wiring or something. The car still runs fine!
And yeah, thats what it says in my manual.
