Both of my rear doors on my 2002 pontiac grand am are stuck and I am unable to open them. On one side the handle is actually stuck open and the power locks are both stuck as well.

Not helpful. I pulled on the metal rod attached to the door handle on the inside of the door, and pulled it loose, broke it off inside the door towards the door latch. There were 2 rods, the smaller one pulled loose and the other larger one did not move after pulling on it also. In order to get into the rear doors, I was thinking of taking the door off at the hinges, swing it around to get access behind the door panel to see what the latch is attached to. Or I need a diagram of the inside of the door to see what the rods are attached to and what I need to remove and unlock the door. The outside door handle is disconnected on both doors. I need the doors open so I can get the inside door panels off for better access.

I have a 2002 pontiac grand am with both power windows and door locks. Everything else works except the lock assembly on the rear driver side rear door latch. I have removed the inside panel , aboth rods are connected. all power is disconnected to that door. I moved both of the rods correctly and the door will slightly open but that is all. How can I get it to release so I can repair or replace the latch and lock if nescessary ? I had the same problem only reversed with the frond door it would not close but after some trying I fixed that problem.

SOURCE: Driver's side door power locks are stuck; door stuck shut.

sounds like the rods are disconnected the clips hold the rods in place the latching mechanism holds the handle in place as well did you replace the speakers or did a shop? if a shop did then they caused this if you did then you may have caused this either way untill you reattach the rods none of it will work. you will have to manually open the door at the latch from inside teh door behind the panel.

How do i take door panel off the driver side of a 2002 ponic grand prix gpt

Remove window switch by pulling up on the rear of it, and unhook electrical connectors. Next remove 2 plugs below pull handle and the 2 screws behind them.
Then using a trim panel tool or a flat blade screw driver disengage the clips around the outside of the door panel.
Start at the top edge and work your way down and around.

How do i remove the rear door panel on a 2003 pontiac grand am

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls.
