It seems you have a timing problem. Have the engine timed properly. If that does not work it could be a craked rotor or distributor cap. have all these checked.

check your starter key switch on the steering column.
the contact for the starter is wired to the key selector.
you need the Factory Service Manual fot trace out the wire. In general, the starter wire is red, the current runs from the battery to the key switch then to starter motor.
If you have wired from stater to the battery directly, you are bypassing the key switch.
The clutch switch is mounted on the top side of the transmission near the converter housing. again, you need to located the FSM in order to figure out exactly where it is.

Do you have a check engine light with this?
What can happen is a code has caused the engine to protect itself. For example in a low coolant situation when the engine heats up too much, the engine can Knock causing an Engine Knock fault.
If that occurs you will recieve a fault for each of these items. Fill the engine with coolant. Then reseting the code will let your engine accelerate normally.

Hi the car would only need to overheat once to blow the head gasket,, it depends on how hot the engine got and how long you carried on driving it, you can boil the oil crack the cylinder head ect,,, check the oil for water mixing with it (common sign of head gasket failure) the oil goes like a milky colour,, but if you have already checked this then still dont rule the head gasket out,,, it can leak the other way water out of the cylinder head,,, check for any signs of dripping water around the cylinder head, white smoke from exhaust pipe ect,,
But the best way to rule it out would be to get a compression test done this wont cost much and give you a definate answer,, If it is the headgasket it aint expensive to buy the parts its the labour that cost as it aint a small job,,, if you have the manual give it a go yourself and remember you can post on here if you get stuck along the way,,
Hope this helps some

If you indeed are getting no spark on any plugs, check your plug wire that runs from the rotor to your ignition coil- the one that doesn't go to the engine. Make sure the internal connections didn't pull out and get crushed back in or fall out. Try one of your other plug wires on it and see if it fires- won't run good but you will see difference and be done troubleshooting. Other than that, you bought the rotor button and and rotor as a set right? Make sure the button metal tip is contacting the cap. If you got the wrong one, it may sit too low for the contacts even if it is long enuff. If you were getting spark, I would just say you got the firing order wrong.
