Fuel isnt coming out hte injectors

I just replaced my pump in my 97 tahoe a month ago but i did not replace the filter like an idiot,So my girl friend and i were out the other night and my truck just shuts off at the light no warning signs at all...Well i got under it pounded on the tank while she turned it over and she started.I figuered the new pump went bad because i never changed the filter it was probably making the pump work to hard or somthing.Well i went the next day and got a new pump w/ a new filter (had to cut the old one out) I installed the pump in no time... Went to fire it up and would not fire!!! I can hear the pump plain as day ..I actually drove it up on the ramps with the bad pump the same day ..... I dont know how to check the preassure,Can it be a bad pump "its Brand new" its not getting any gas in the intake at all .I did prime it myself thinking maybe that would work stayed running about 20 sec till gas ran out IM BOGGLED. New filter...New pump...did use a after market filter (Dont think that shoud Matter) Even went as far as bypassing the filter w/ a straight hose .Seems like the pump is working good > I even Disconnected the 2 fuel lines lines that appeard to be going right into the intake and it sprayed out all over the place ...I really dont want to pull that intake off but im not getting any gas through the injectors what else can i trouble shoot (did i miss anything? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Ok when you turn the key on, you hear the buzzing sound in the tank? if you spray starting fluid into air intake, will the engine fire? there should be a fuel pressure port under hood on fuel rail i believe. if this is vortec style engine, injector assy under intake is possible. somewhat common. pull oil dipstick and smell for fuel. that would indicate maybe the pressure regulator has let go. ck for spark as well, just to be sure youre on the right track.

SOURCE: Tahoe will not start new fuel pump/w/filter

BE WARNED!!! i was a GM mechanic for years, i personally found out for myself, that many if those pumps bought from parts stores auto zone, orielly's, napa, etc... have the possibility of being bad from the factory, i once worked on a 98 silverado, the customer had replaced the pump 3 times with an auto zone pump, every time the pump would either not even start the truck or it would loose pressure within a week or two. after we installed a new GM pump he no longer had an issue, sometimes its worth it to pay a little bit more and buy a pump from a dealer, plus if you buy a GM part, it comes with a 5 year 100,000 mile warranty, even if you buy it over the counter and install it yourself.
