Interior lights stay on while driving, lift gate sensor flashing and occasinally alarm goes off in middle of night

Recently the lift gate sensor showed it was open, when its secured. The alarm would go off in middle of night if i lock doors with key fob, now the interior lights stay on all the time while driving. Help driving me nuts. I was going to take fuse out for interior lights but unable to determine which fuse is for interior lights.

Replacing the ECU will not require Dealer Intervention Although most folks Like to Buy them From junk yard, I Have Never done That For My Personal Cars or most Customers , as You May Buy the SAME PROBLEM & or More different ones. AND that Solution I would ONLY resort to If,, You have EXHAUSTED "ALL" other Avenues, such as Bad Dome Light Buttons, all it takes is 1 to be Slightly Dirty at the Contacts. I would check them all and there plugs/Connecters etc.I think I'll Do a little more reserch on this
But if I have Helped More or solved this Please Remember to RATE me Thonk you RejakWilson

Sounds like a fuse issue. check your panel for popped accessory fuse.

the overhead light issue may be the door close switch

SOURCE: liftgate open light stays on all the time

Look for the pin switch on the body where the lift gate is. The switch could be stuck, broken, or corroded. Theres a pin switch on every door to turn on the inside lights, and sometimes they fail. Make sure it is clean, and moves easily. If its stuck, a shot of WD-40 will get it going again. If no matter what you do, you cant get it working properly, replace it.

On the dash it says gate is open but its shut tight.

it could be a sensor out of adjustment or shorted. you will have to find which door is causing the problem and check out the sensor. you can also check for a code in the BCM as this is were it is monitored. it may tell you which door and possibly what set the light.

Lift gate open warning light sounds when temp is below 60

sounds like the cold temps cause the metal door to warp which causes an increased distance to the sensor that tells the computer the lift gate is open. The lift gate sensors should be adjusted to be closer together.

How do I fix the liftgate sensor on a 2005 nissan quest

I purchased a 2005 Quest that had same damage on the rear lift gate. If I crossed my eyes and pressed down on the magic spot 3% of the time I could get the door to close in a way the sensor would recognize so I didn't have the door open light turn on.

Too fix this problem I removed the interior panel from the lift gate which allows access to the the lock and some of the wires. almost directly behind the licence plate you have access to the inside the lift gate you should see 2 wires that appear to be going down the latch. I'm assuming one of these controls the power locks and the other is for the feedback sensor that tells the car the door is open.

on the drivers side of the opening that exposes the wires going down to the lock you will see there is a white connection for 1 of the 2 wires that is mounted to the inside of the lift-gate. All I did was squeeze and separate this connection and the car no longer recognizes the door is open.

I don't have an alarm so I don't know if this would mess up the alarm other than if someone broke in through the lift gate it wouldn't trigger the sensor.

I hope this helps
