That sounds more like the clutch throw out bearing. Have to remove transmission to replace it.

2015 vwcc 2.0 tsi dsg r line resonance noise at 2000rpm stationary and when driven any ideas ? Dealer can hear but after 3 visits last one 2 weeks still cant find whats causing it.

resonance at rpm when stationary can only come from those parts rotating
That limits the noise source down to the engine and transmission
Starting with the engine , the most obvious noise sources are the idler pulley bearings , water pump bearings , power steering pump, ac compressor pulley bearings (compressor if activated), drive belt-loose or failing and harmonic balancer rubber failing
There may be a noise source from a worn/loose timing chain and that noise will be as a harmonic rattle
moving on to the transmission
If manual , bearing noise can be determined by the application of the clutch
Throw out bearing noise will stop or get worse with the clutch depressed and gear /bearing noise will stop with the clutch depressed
Probably not a lot of help as the description of resonance is wide open to harmonic--rattle , whirring, hum or even loose material in the exhaust system such as failed cat converter moving around

I have a 2012 vw GLI manual. When I start the car there's a rattling sound(sound like from the engine). The sound diminish at idle but is still there. When I press down on the clutch it goes away. ...

Hi Roc, If the sound disappeared when the clutch assembly was replaced or attended to, it would seem to be related to something going wrong in that department. Presumably the vehicle is under warranty so the dealer should receive it as a return job. Regards John

My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a rattling noise coming from the gearbox, almost sounds like a worn release bearing on a manual box. The noise only appears after 1-2 min after cold start. Gearbox further...

If you notice a change in the rattle, when you depress the clutch pedal it is most likely in the clutch,or the linkage. The release bearing will most often have a squeal or a hissing sound. The clutch fork can rattle, if the ball pivot retainer is broken. You may feel some unwanted slack in the clutch opperation, and you may be able to adjust this out,but maybe not, with a hydraulic clutch.

Relaced transmission and now have a rattle sound comind from torque coverter area, noise gets louder when gas pedal is applied and noise goes away during shifting of transmission btu comes right back after...

your torque converter is rattling that is the clutch on the stator inside is worn out... You can stall test your torque converter ...Do this but follow correctly. put on parking brake..on the asphalt,,,, block all four wheels...push the gas to the floor for just 2 seconds...down one, two lift off gas pedal quickly..
when your doing this WATCH your RPMs they should reach to around 2200-2400 between the 2-4 rpm if not the Torque Converter is toast!!!! If your car passes the STAll test then when you tranny was put back on one of the fly wheel covers are rubbing....!!!.

Grinding Noise When Clutch Is Depressed, Lights Flicker

you may need to have your clutch cable adjusted ... it is most likely not releasing the clutch fully and grinding against the flywheel

Jag xtype 2ltr diesel manual has rattle when clutch is depressed on when pedal travels to its extreme point ie floor. No judder or slipping just rattle is this OK

Sounds like release bearing or clutch fork pivot. Or could be clutch plate springs loose, but less likely. If it doesn't suddenly get worse, then it should be fine to drive. If you do get slipping, this needs immediate attention as you could score the flywheel.

Clutch vibrating

Two reasons for this. Rattling is usually faulty pressure plate which means clutch overhaul. Depending on which Focus some have a rubber mounted flywheel which dies and must be replaced. Either way its gearbox out and check. First check all gearbox and engine mounts, but it sounds more serious.
