Does it work pressing the button on the driver's door armrest? Check the fuse for that window. Also check continuity of the wires or the wires that go from the door to the door frame? Constant open and closing can break wires.
I have a 2005 ES330. Pressing and holding the button also opens my sunroof. It is very useful in the heat of the summer.
Assuming you are talking about pressing the unlock button on the key fob twice, holding it on the second press. It will only open the sunroof, not close it. Same thing for the windows. They can only be opened with the double press on the fob. If its some thing else, disregard :)
if this dont work, live with it.(cos the part alone is £850 ecm)put key in door and unlock/hold key over, windows should roll down, then lock/hold key over windows should roll up/sunroof shuts, that resets the "comfort settings"
dont know if you recd my previous so again...unlock/hold over windows go down,lock/hold over windows go up/sunroof closes.(alarm/immobiliser resets)....key stuck in lock, pull hard when upright, moving the key up/down when pulling, should do it.also bootlid lock two positions, turn left, then release or turn right and release, see what happens......(boot isolation from the central locking)
put key in drivers door and hold over (unlock) for 30 secs, windows go down, then open sunroof fully.then put key in drivers door and hold over(lock) for 30 secs windows will go up and sunroof will close, you have just reset the system.....if sunroof rollsback again then the park switch is faulty.
Could it be that you are doing this? Mini has a feature where if you hold down the unlock button on the key for a few seconds the windows will drop...and a few more seconds the sunroof opens. It happened to me a few times
try this first (cheapest remedy first) open the sunroof fully take key out of ignition shut all doors then put the key in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to unlock car(windows will go down)then wait 30 secs.then put key back in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to lock car, windows will go up and the sunroof will close.if the sunroof does not shut properly then we start with motor park switch.....
yes, the remote has a function that if the unlock button is held down the windows and sunroof will open automatically. Perhaps you have a remote that intermittently sticks causing this concern.
Make sure nobody plays with the car key after you lock it because if anybody push the unlocking button on your key remote it will unlock the car and if they push and hold it long enough it will open the windows and sunroof
In the same way as you can use your key to open the windows by unlocking 2 times and holding the key in unlock position the windows will open, the criminal broke your lock and used a screwdriver to the same affect. You can also use your key to close the windows by locking and holding the key in that position. If the sunroof is open it will also close.
