Pt idle went crazy and car died now throwing codes

I was driving my 2001 PT when all of a sudden the idle went crazy and the engine light came on. I had just enough time to get off to the side. We towed the car and tried to re-start the next day....It did re-start roughly but as soon as I put it in drive it died again. At first we thought it was a battery problem of some sort...But it wouldnt start again after that. We checked for the engine codes and they showed as: 320, 340, 1391 and 1684....But we are stuck and dont know where to go from here...PLEASE HELP!!!

Acts like it isn't getting fuel, chokes out

Hello,

Do you have an engine light? Throwing a code?
Just does this at idle or when driving/acceleration?
Acting strange changing symptoms (E.G.--idle to acceleration to black smoke out exhaust, etc.)? Plenty of Gas in tank?

I am thinking: No engine light
Clog in fuel filter
intermittent fuel pump problem
A vehicle starting sensor (E.G.--Throttle Position Sensor (TPS))
Main computer
Engine Light: Pull Code
Sensor

I hope this helps.

My 2001 PT Cruiser was driving fine then the check engine flashed then stayed on. Within 24 hours while driving it lost power and died. Jumped it got about a mile it died again. We have replaced the...

I would want to know what the trouble codes are in the computer since the check engine light is on.
Those codes would help you or a mechanic know where to start checking.
If the alternator is not charging the battery, and you know for a fact the battery and alternator are ok, the problem could be a fuse or fuseable link wire, or the computer.

How do you adjust an idle control valve on a 2001 pt cruiser 2.4?

The Idle Air Control (IAC) on a 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser is controlled by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). There are no mechanical adjustments. If your engine is not idling correctly, There is a problem with your engine control system that must be diagnosed. If it is idling too high, the most likely cause is vacuum leaks.

I have a 2001 Pt Cruiser. The battery light came on all the lights went out the car still drove for about 4 min then it died. Replaced the alternator (the old one was bad) and still the battery light is...

Check wiring in your. I also own a Chrysler and the electric map manual says that it can be the battery the alternator or the car's wiring. Check for faulty wires and fuses, also for a short circuit (those can make battery die in a short time depending on how intense they are)

2001 PT Cruiser

Car overheats then engine dies going down hill coasting. When try to start, starter spins as if no gas or fire to the plugs. Can this be a sensor flipped by too much heat or lack of coolant ? If so, how do you reset the sensor ?
