Chassis acceleration sensor (CAS) if probably at fault. Not sure where exactly its located. A search came up with it possibly around the windshield wiper cover under the hood.
Chassis Acceleration Sensor At right rear side of engine compartment
Code PO1309 : Misfire Monitor Failure
Description : When the misfire monitor is disabled, usually due to the input signal generated by the camshaft position sensor, by sensing the passage of teeth from the camshaft position wheel.
Possible Causes : PCM(power train control module), Mass Air Flow Sensor, Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, Crank Shaft Position Sensor, Camshaft Position Sensor.
The sensor is on the passenger side under the hood, it tells the PCM to ignore misfire signals from the engine when on rough roads, so yes it is safe to drive.
