SOURCE: brakes lights are not working.

Hey there JABJAW,

Check the switch on the brake pedal. You'll have to contort a bit.

  • Get a flashlight, get down under the dash.
  • The brake light switch is near the top of the brake pedal (but not on it).
  • When you press the pedal, does it fully extend?
  • Are the wires firmly attached?
  • Does the switch look damaged/corroded?
  • While you're down there, double check the fuses
If the problem persists, find a test light and get back with me. We Will get it fixed. Either way, let me know how it went.

BTW, do the turn signals work?
Mike

1997 Subaru Impreza Tail lights work but brake lights don't even though the Hatch brake light is working

Hi,
So, both sides are not working? Check for voltage @ the brake light bulb to see if you're getting power. Also, look in the fuses.

check out the online Subaru forums, too.

Why won't my MB ml350 brake lights work even after i install new bulbs?

Did you check the fuse? Either the fuse may be out, or the brake light swith on the brake pedal may be out or need adjusting. You should have 12 volts at the brake switch.

Brake lights on mb ml350 don't work even after installing new bulbs

Rick,
The brake lamps on your Mercedes are computer-controlled. I would recommend scanning your computer network for possible fault codes.

Brake lights don't work. Bulbs, fuses and brake light switch all okay. Center brake light works and the running lighs work.

Filaments on actual bulbs might be burned out, pull the socket out from the back of the tailights and do a visual check on the bulbs, replace if needed...

I have a 1996 dakota with no tail lights. The brake lights work. I think it may be a fuse, but I don't have a manual to see what fuse it may be,????

Why would it be a fuse?
You have front parking lights? Then no fuse

If it was a fuse ---would that fix it -- NO it wouldn't
Why do fuses blow?

Have you even removed the tail light housing & checked the bulbs,
or checked the sockets for ground or under truck for wiring
harness issues?

Don't need a manual to check all fuses under the dash &
in the box near brake booster
