How do I tell if the transfer case "lo" light is on in error. I push the lever to the "All Time 4 wheel drive" position. If it truly is in "lo" position, I understand that harms the transfer case.

If it really is in Lo you should be able tell as you will only be able to go half as fast as you normally do in any gear. some of jeep's lights are linked to the vacuum system and are a joke as well as hard to fix the lights on the dash. if it is not in Lo when you have the lever in all time, it wont hurt anything to drive it.

My 4 wheel drive does not work on my jeep

The term four-wheel drive typically describes larger passenger vehicles that may allow the driver to manually switch (sometimes with an automatic option) between two-wheel drive mode (if available) for streets and four-wheel drive mode for low-traction conditions such as ice, mud, snow, or loose gravel. It may not -always- work but is very reliable.

I don't know how to put my 1993 jeep wrangler into four wheel drive

To engage the four wheel drive, while rolling, pull the lever back one notch and that will engage the transfer case. You can easily do that up to speeds as high as 35mph. Pulling the lever all the way back will put it into 4 low which is not often used and may grind if it does not engage right away. That really doesn't matter much because that gear is only used for pulling heavy loads at low speeds. (I use mine about once every two years) If you do need to use it, generally you can engage it with the engine off without problems. The neutral position is used to disengage the wheels if the vehicle needs to be towed. If it fails to disengage, often backing up about twenty feet or so will help.

Just bought my son a 93 jeep grand cherokee cant get it to run in 2wd we have 4wd all time & 4wd low on the shift.when we put in nutral & put the auto in drive the wheels dont spin dont have a...

Neutral is only used when you need to tow the jeep. Normal two wheel driving is done in 2h. To engage 4wheel drive keep rolling slowly and engage either 4h or 4L. Generally 4L is almost never used as it is for pulling weight like a vehicle stuck in a snowbank. If it does not return to 2h when you go back into two wheel operation, many times it will if you back up about ten or twenty feet. Don't engage 4 wheel drive while standing still. and never force the lever if you hear grinding.

My 1995 jeep grand cherokee 4x4 will just shut off when i am driving. have to put it in nutral to start it some times. doesnt always start.

You have a possible fuel or crank position sensor problem, or the ignition switch is going bad. You need to do some testing before replacing anything...parts are not cheap so make sure you are replacing the correct ones. If you need to select neutral to start at a standstill, the neutral safety switch may also be bad, but that shouldn't turn it off after it's started.
