Peugeot 207 oil level increase

I changed oil filter and oil by my self. After approx. 1000km I have OIL -- flashing on my display before engine start. I checked the oil level and it is above max. I replaced the oil and the oil filter once more and again after approx. 1000 I have same flashing OIL -- and oil level is above max.

SOURCE: Peugeot 207 oil level increase

Check to see if gas is getting into the oil which would raise the level. This can happen from flooding, i.e. a leaky injector dumping too much gas or possibly gas blowby past the piston rings and ending up in crankcase. If gas is in the oil most likely an injector is bad. Smell the oil and check to see if it smells like gas and or check viscosity of oil.. thin oil

How much oil should normally be burnt on a Peugeot 207. 2007. 1.6 L auto. 5 door hatch if motor is in very good cond between oil changes (have done approx. 5000kms)

Anon, You really should look in your manual or contact manufacturer to find what is considered normal oil consumption. I have never owned a Peugeot, but have had numerous other makes, mostly domestics to USA and Canada and never had to add oil between changes at approx. 5000 Km.s before oil changes.

Worn main and rod bearings on the crank shaft. This is what creates the oil pressure. When the get worn they start loosing pressure. Also when the oil gets hot, it gets thinner, causing more lose of pressure.

How much oil do i put into a 2007 pug 207 1.4

The quoted capacity is just under 4 litres including a filter change.

I put 3.5 litres in, start the engine check the oil light goes out after a few seconds, check for leaks from the filter, then switch off engine.

Wait at least 3 minutes, check oil level on dipstick and top up to maximum.

Peugeot 207 1.4, small oil leak from underneath, added engine stop leak, how long before it stops leak?

oil leaks from underneath can come from front crank shaft seal --rear crank shaft seal --oil filter--sump gasket---power steering ---leaking rocker cover gaskets ---leaking oil pressure switch.--transmission seals. I suggest that you have the engine professionally cleaned and then put it on a hoist while running to see where the oil is from

Engine cuts out

Although your pollen filter will not cause the engine to cut out, a lack of oil pressure will. Check your oil level. Then take your vehicle into a dealer soonest.
