Radio in 2002 Chevy Impala is locked, need code

  • Anonymous Mar 30, 2012

on Tuesday 3/27 I submitted the above problem to you. You assigned tech Zzdaryl.
He said could not fix problem, had to go to dealer to use scanner. I went to dealer today 3/30/12. After car had to run for 1 hour, the tech was able to bring up code (no scanner needed). They did not charge me. I would like a credit on my visa card for $28.00 since Zzdaryl should have known this as a experienced tech for GM. Very dissatisfied Awaiting your answer asap. Thank you, Bruce Kobrin My cell phone # is 973-699-6028

Did you happen to disconnect the battery for some reason? If so, all you should need to do is call the Chevy Dealer and talk to the parts department. Explain to them that you need the code to unlock your radio. They will probably ask you for the VIN number. This is what happened to me when I put the stock radio back into my Saturn. The dealer gave me the number and it worked. I hope this helps you!

SOURCE: 2002 Chevy Impala Radio Doesn't Work

Check the radio fuse? Box is drivers side end of dash(drivers door open)or pass side end of dash(passenger door open)
police models have a connection for the speakers (passenger floorboard under floor mat) to connect the speakers to the police radios.
If they had the speakers connected to their radios, they may have unhooked them and not connected them back to the radio.
The wires are brown, grey, blue and light blue. All into a blue connector.

SOURCE: unlock antitheft code for 2004 chevy impala

Radios in the 2004 Impalas are tied to the vehicle's VIN through the computer, so it may be somewhat difficult to get the code. However, the following steps should work:

1. Press and hold the buttons for presets 1 & 4 (may be 2 & 3). The word "SEC" should show.
2. Press the "MIN" button. "000" should be displayed.
3. Press the "MIN" button again to have the second two numbers appear. Record these numbers.
4. Press the "HR" button for the first two numbers to appear. Record these numbers. -- Note: Your number sequence should be the numbers from the "HR" button followed by the numbers from the "MIN" button.
5. Call 1-800-537-5140. This will get you to the GM unlock code automated line. Ignore the prompt and enter "202108#". Next enter your code (remember, HR then MIN) followed by the * key. For example, 1234*. A 3 or 4 digit code will be given to you. If you get a code such as 0532, drop the zero when entering it into your radio.
6. Enter the code into the radio IAW the applicable manual.

SOURCE: radio unlock coed for chevy impala

• A module which communicates on the class 2 serial data circuit which supplies VIN information to the radio is replaced and not properly setup with the correct VIN information for that vehicle. The only way to unlock the radio is by using a scan tool.

Table 1: Radio Features
Table 2: Cassette Features
Table 3: Compact Disc Features
Table 4: XM Advisory Messages
The radio receives power from the RADIO fuse in the junction block-right I/P. Ground is provided via G201 and G202. The radio is enabled/disabled by class 2 messages from the body control module (BCM). The radio routes audio signals from the digital radio receiver or the vehicle communication interface module (VCIM) to the speakers and/or amplifier when directed by class 2 messages.
The Entertainment System on this vehicle is configured with an AM/FM stereo radio with the radio data system (RDS) and either a cassette player or a CD player or both. CD and cassette. The uplevel system provides the customer with extended range speakers and an audio amplifier. Satellite digital radio (U2K) is available with uplevel systems.
The following list shows the radios available for this vehicle:
• Radio (ULO) - AM/FM Stereo, Cassette with RDS
• Radio (UNO) - AM/FM Stereo, CD and RDS
• Radio (UPO) - AM/FM Stereo, Cassette with CD and RDS .The complexity of the radio systems on these vehicle is mind blowing .

Your best bet take it to a GM dealer , has features you are unawear of .
DTC B1025, B1035, B1045, or B1055
When the radio is powered up, the radio supplies low level audio signals to the speakers. If the vehicle is equipped with an audio amplifier, the amplifier will boost the signal sent to the speakers.
DTC B1025 Audio Output Circuit
Install a scan tool.
Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
With the scan tool, monitor the DTC Information for DTC B1025.
Does the scan tool indicate that DTC B1025 is current?

Radio sound problems , sound comes and goes , but mostly , goes

You are not the only one with this problem... Alot of 01' impalas had problems with the radio. You could take it out to see if there are any loose wires or something grounding out but if it was me I would upgrade to a CD player that has bluetooth and Aux input and some of the newer stuff with it. Also don't foget that it is possible that at or between the speaker connection there could be a short or something grounding out to cause the problem. But no matter what, the dash has to come off so why not put in a new one while you are in there getting your hands dirty. Also Wal-Mart sells a dash kit for every year car/truck but please install it your self don't go and get ripped off by best buy or one of these hole in the wall stereo places. P.S. Take Off The Battery Terminals Before You Do Anything!!!!!!!

How to wire an aftermarket wire harness for a 2002 impala

I have a 2000 impala. Today I just had to buy a $115 wire harness just to hook up my deck and speakers. It's because there's two pieces instead of one to connect to the harness. It's because when u turn your key off ,your radio plays until you open the door. The harness comes with a fan type thing ,that keeps everything from dying.hope this helps
