After a second warm start I have the same problem! These are all the solutions I have just surfed for to fix my 2000 Mustang 3.8.
1. Replace EGR Valve.
2. Check or replace Ignition Coil.
3. ACT or ECT reading incorrectly.
4. Clean MAF and Throttle Body.
5. Replace IAC (Idle Air Controller)
6. Replace Fuel Filter.
7. Check DPFE Sensor.
8. Replace O2 Sensors(both sides).
9. Replace Spark Plug Wires.
10. Check Temp Sensor - not the sensor for the gauge but the sensor for the computer.
