Known issue on the Passat.

The P0348 code is stored in the PCM when the voltage reading from the camshaft position sensor circuit for camshaft sensor A in engine bank 2 is too high. This code may be stored with crankshaft sensor codes.

code p 0706 refers to transmission range (TR) sensor/switch--range /performance problem===causes---wiring---TR sensor /switch
check for clean contacts in the harness connections -replace the sensor

This code is for a Transmission range sensor. Which can cause a vehicle to shift properly or go into gear correctly. Here are the problems that could cause that to malfunction.

• Defective Transmission Range Sensor (PRNDL input)
• Defective Transmission Range Sensor (PRNDL input) wiring or connector
• Defective Valve Body
• Defective manual shift valve linkage
• Dirty transmission fluid that restricts the hydraulic passages

there mayb more to it--if u didnt change computer-may not b compatible n u need to flash or reprogram it----the sensor u bot mite b aftermarket and not like original--crank sensor also has to du with startin---a data stream run with factory gear will pinpoint issue-it shows values that a xperiencd tech will figure--private shops are best-dont go dealer--its worth the $--code readers in a parts store wont cut it

check make sure transmission fluid not too low or could have plugged transmission filter.or code scan for faulty transmission fluid pressure sensor or transmission range sensor bad or out of adjustment.transmission could have failed.garage has to run fluid pressure test see if transmission failed or you could have faulty shift solenoid..

Check stik should be on left side of engine. Remove and check. You will need a long spout to add fluid. .
