My 1995 xj6 x300 has intermitant electrical issues. while driving the doors will lock/unlock, windows will close and the sunroof switch will work. i try not to mess with the sunroof because it remained open for a time untill the electric gremlins let me close it. the drivers seat does not work as it should but i don't know if it is connected to the problem.

check your central locking system; fuses relays etc.

The brake light may or may not be connected the the door problem but I would start with checking the ground wires. i have had a problem with the door lock relay and if that is blown the car will not start.
The antenna is just **** , they get dirty and just stop going up and down.

I forgot to mention about the locks. Mine does the same thing...jumps three times. This is an indicator that one of the locks on the circuit is not functioning properly. Mine happens to be the right front but it could be any door including the boot lid.

The antenna could be a burnt motor; however, my 1987 XJ6 had the same issue. One day it came up just a bit and I was able to slowly coax it fully out. After I got it out, I took some olive oil and lubricated it just a bit--not a heavy lubrication--and it worked well after that although it would still sometimes stick.

SOURCE: 1988 jaguar and cannot open doors from outside

need to remove the interior door panels and check all the linkages. One of them is a brittle plastic linkage that is famous for breaking, and bits get caught up in the travel path of the door handle. I had taht issue, and rebult all mine with aftermarket plastic linkages, and the metal parts I pulled from junkyard cars. No way to fix it without removing the interior door panels, but that is thankfully a pretty easy job.

SOURCE: how do you unlock the car door of 1996 jaguar xj6

Please consider the following...
15 year old car.
Normally uses remote unlock (key remains unused).

Possible solution, open keyhole cover by particially inserting key. Place WD-40 or other silicone spray lube in the key hole (lots). Operate the key several times... eventually, it will clean the unused parts and open the door.

1996 Jaguar xj6 sunroof will not close you can hear motor running, how can you manual close it?

If you remove any gear that is coupling it to the motor you should be able to slide it back to where you want. I would put gear back just to hold it in place and keep it from moving. But you do have to replace that gearbox for future operation.

The sunroof on my 2002 VW Golf is stuck in a slightly open position (about 1 inch open). It goes back to this position no matter what the sunroof switch is pointing to. How can I get it to close/work...

try this first (cheapest remedy first) open the sunroof fully take key out of ignition shut all doors then put the key in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to unlock car(windows will go down)then wait 30 secs.then put key back in drivers door and hold key over 30 secs to lock car, windows will go up and the sunroof will close.if the sunroof does not shut properly then we start with motor park switch.....

1998 xj8 here: alarm keeps going off

The most common issue with the security system if the car is locked up and all the doors and windows are closed including the sunroof is the drivers door lock/latch assembly.

Jaguar x300 central locking problem

If the locks are working whilst you are driving then more and likely it is the actual door lock assy that is bad. the solenoid go bad and can cause erratic operation. But unfortunately they are only available with the whole door lock/latch assy.
I would disconnect the drivers and see if the problem still exists.
