99 Astro Van random misfires P300

For 9 months I've been trying to track down what could be causing the random misfires - P300 code. On cold, foggy or wet days the "Check engine" light comes on. It acts sluggish on acceleration, making turns & causes quite of bit of hesitation if I drive over 60 mph. It runs great on warm days & the "Check engine" light goes off. Here's a list of things that I have changed in the past 9 months: Spark plugs (A/C Delco), spark plug wires (twice), rotor (twice) (second time I sealed screws and rotor with silicone to prevent condensation from getting inside), cap (twice), coil, coil wire (twice), EGR valve, PCV valve, catalytic converter, alternator, battery, fuel pump, fuel filter (twice), air filter, gas cap and last but not least a professional fuel injectors cleaning done 2 days ago. Mechanic said if that doesn't fix it then I need injectors replaced which for parts & labor will run me $750.00 which I don't have. The vacuum lines and fuel lines were checked out & I was told are fine and aren't leaking anywhere. Today it's cold & it had rained overnight & my 99 Asto is acting sluggish again telling me that the problem isn't fixed. It eventually throw out the code if I continued to drive it. Could it be something else that's not listed above? Like the (upstream) O2 sensor that could make the van act sluggish in cold & wet weather? I would hate to dish out $750.00 for new injectors only to find out it didn't solve the random misfires. Help!!

Before you replace the injectors have them do an injector balance test. Normally wet weather does not effect fuel system. Sounds more like you have a crank or cam sensor acting up.

SOURCE: hesitation, stalling like out of gas

Clogged Catalytic Converter. What happens is as you push down harder on the accelerator you force more gas into the system causing a slightly richer mixture and more exhaust flow is neccessary. The easiest way to look for a clogged cat is when it's dark out take it for a ride causing it perform it's problem look under the vehicle if the cat is literally glowing red hot you either have a clogged cat or an extremely rich fuel mixture.

SOURCE: 95 GMC Jimmy 4.3l W vin rough idle

My problem was solved when I repaired my 4 wd activation dash switch. The switch was contacting on 2WD & 4HI at the same time. The front differential activation is vacuum activated possibly creating a tug of war that didn't actually engage it but drained off vacuum from the engine? A theory at best but stumbbled across it because I knew the switch wasn't working properly I repaired it and low and behold rough idle disappeared and all is good for 3 weeks running.

sounds like you have a problem with the spark the coil may be on its way out or there may be oil in the spark plug holls shorting out the spark.
your best bet is to pull the leads out 1 at a time and and look down and check for oil if there is oil there get a new rocker cover gasket.
if no oil refit plug leads loosely and start the car remove one lead at a time slowly and look at the spark cumming out the end off the lead is it blue? if so it is ok if it is yellow and dull you have a coil problem. also check that the spark is only coming out the end of the lead as it may be coming out the side of the lead and shorting to earth,
you can do this by slowly moving the lead around the top of the spark plug holl and see were the spark is coming from

be carfull no to shock your self as it hearts like hell

good luck

Random misfire

I have an 01 impala 3800. After 2 months of searching for the source of the misfire that was causing my car to surge, stall, and generally not run well; I rebuilt my tranny, because it needed it, and in hopes of finding out something more. Well, when I put everything back together I stumbled on to a fuel leak on the rear fuel rail fuel supply line connector. In the process of trying to figure out what the problem was I\'ve been through many, many forums and a hellava lot of people have had the same problem and racked their brains and spent thousands of dollars. Long story short, I replace the connector with a $20 kit, right off the shelf of the local parts store, and the problem is fixed.

Code po100 & p0300 come up. then I clean throttle body with cleaner, then the van stops missing & run good & light go's out.

P0100 is mass airflow circuit, p0300 is multiple cylinder misfire. Faulty maf sensor is most likely the cause of the misfires.

I have a 1999 Chevy Astro that is giving me a P0300 trouble code. So far I've replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, fuel filter, air filter, and catalytic converter. I'm still having the...

P0300 Diagnostic Code - Random Misfire
Technical description:--
Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected:---
Exactly what does this code means:--
Basically this means that the the car's computer has detected that not all of the engine's cylinders are firing properly.
A P0300 diagnostic code indicates a random or multiple misfire. If the last digit is a number other than zero, it corresponds to the cylinder number that is misfiring. A P0302 code, for example, would tell you cylinder number two is misfiring. Unfortunately, a P0300 doesn't tell you specifically which cylinder(s) is/are mis-firing, nor why.
Symptoms:--
the engine may be harder to start.the engine may stumble / stumble, and/or hesitate.
other symptoms may also be present…There may be rough idle, sputters and stallsand jerks.
Causes:--
A code P0300 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plugs or wires, Faulty coil (pack), Faulty oxygen sensor(s)
Faulty fuel injector(s),Burned exhaust valve, Faulty catalytic converter(s)
Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages, Faulty camshaft position sensor, Defective computer.
Possible solutions for this error problem:--
If there are no symptoms, the simplest thing to do is to reset the code and see if it comes back.
If there are symptoms such as the engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the vehicle, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the catalytic converter has gone bad. If you smell rotten eggs in the exhaust, your cat converter needs to be replaced. I've also heard in other cases the problems were faulty fuel injectors.
Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or un-metered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.
