Warning light for the drivers airbag and passenger airbag stays on after starting the engine on my mazda 323, o2 plate

If it turns on and off with all the others that do it, then thats probably normal.
If you are worried, try asking a mechanic.
Generally in the example of the airbag light, the light turns on, then off to signify that its working.
In my car i can turn the airbag off and then the light stays on to remind me.

You might try reseating the connector under the passenger seat.

have a service center use a mechanical gauge to read the oil pressure
if within specifications have them fit a new oil presser sender/ sensor

as the driver is supposed to be responsible for the safety of the passengers in transit,mercedes (are the only maker),decided that it would be better this way round.its not an airbag light,its a seatbelt warning light.(person sitting down with a ********)

Sounds like the lambda sensor! for the emmisions

Most likely a problem with the passenger seat sensor, BUT you always start by getting the trouble code from the computer. Otherwise you're just guessing.

Well, for one you not suppose to put a baby seat in the front of the car. But anyways with an older airbag control system like that you cannot just disable one airbag, if you unplug the passenger side airbag then in an accident neither airbags will deploy.

This is either a problem with one or both of your airbags or the airbag connector located at the back of the glovebox has been disconnected for some reason. (ie. to prevent airbag opening when installing baby seat) (1999 miata does not have a baby seat airbag disabling sensor).

You should get your car inspected at your local mazda service to check if this is a wiring (plug disconnected) issue or one of your airbags is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.

Flashing airbag light could indicate that either one of the airbags or both have a problem. Disconnecting the passenger's airbag has the same effect.

Warning! Do NOT attempt to do any kind of airbag/airbag wiring related repair yourself. Airbag problems should be addressed ONLY by certified technicians at your local Mazda service. (Airbag fixing requires for example that the car battery is disconnected, you MUST NOT attempt anything with the car battery connected).
