Why are there two holes below where the spare tire goes on the trunk? its has two gasket covering each hole but every time it rains or the roads are wet my trunk gets full of water. I was thinking that the gaskets needed to be replaced obviously but autozone did not have them neither could they tell me what they were for.
Check around trunk, rubber around trunk may b cracked or looking different. Very common
They are drain holes to drain out the water that gets in from rear window leaking, boot gaskets leaking, tail lights leaking
they are rubber plugs or grommets
unless you are knee deep in water , it will not come up into the boot but runs in from the top
These plugs are for draining water from the wheel well. There may be a leak behind the lights leave one of the plugs out for a day or too and see how it goes

You have to remove the spark plugs cables and remove the four nuts that you see when the cables are removed.
When the four nuts are removed, simply raise the valuve cover. When replacing the gasket, make sure you get the gromets as well. Those sometimes get worn or crack since they are more exposed than the value cover gasket. Make sure that you clean the cover from oil and replace the gasket with no use of silicon.
Good Luck.

You need an aftermarket serviice manual from Haynes or Chilton.
They will have that kind of info.
I know of no car (I don't know them all) where that is needed and depending on the cover material (sheet steel or cast), could lead to warping and new leaks.
I always use a thin film of silicone whether it is specified or not and there are torque specs for ALL valve covers I have ever seen.

Removal of the plenum is pretty straight forward. You will need to replace the plenum gasket after you remove it; the gasket is not reusable. Personally, if I was going to take the trouble to remove the plenum, I would replace the plugs and wires back there, also.
I know, I have a 93 Camry V6, and it is a real pain to do the plugs and wires with the plenum on. There are no secrets or great tips on the plenum removal, just take your time. Remember that there are different size bolts, and where they go. Please get back to me if you need any more info...Hope this helps, and thanks for choosing FixYa to resolve your issue.
The graciousness of a FixYa rating for my assistance would be greatly appreciated.

it sounds like you just have too much oil in there to begin with. I'm unsure on how the valve cover gasket would affect the spark plugs in this case.
SOURCE: To change the oil pan gasket in a 93 Tercel
Stock the car doesn't come with an oil pan gasket but you can order one from rockauto.com you don't have to remove the A/C compressor for any of the jobs you listed. If you want to change the timing belt you need to remove the plastic rock guard under the motor on the passenger side. remove the spark plugs and using the socket turn the engine from the crankshaft clockwise until you are at TDC on #1 cyclinder. (compression stroke) Next remove the upper and lower plastic timing belt covers. The idler pulley is the one with the spring. Loosen the nut and remove the spring then you can remove the timing belt. It really isn't that hard to do. Maybe one afternoon.
