Mechanic can not find problem....#10 fuse blows and check engine light comes on. windows dont work dashboard doesnt work vent/air lights on controls all out turn signal doesnt work no lights on inside of car works.
Well, if a mechanic on-site can't find the problem, you probably need a technician trained on Pontiac or GM systems.
Automotive systems today are so complicated and diverse, I couldn't even hazard a guess, and I've worked on cars and trucks for over 30 years. Us shadetree mechanics have just about seen our waterloo. Sorry, Denise.

10 amp fuse under steering column that says it is for 'Gauge' fixed this problem. That fuse had blown.
SOURCE: No left turn signal
CHECK ALL BULBS, SOME HAVE A SLIGHT DARK SPOT ON THE BULB AND IS BAD AND FLASHER COULD ALSO BE BAD. CHECK THE FUSES TOO.

Ok, GM had a problem with their hazard light switches in the years of around 2001-2005. These caused some bizarre workings concerning the hazards, lights, turn signals, etc. The circuits overlap, and when the switch malfunctions, it makes for some odd happenings. Normally, when the hazards are on, they cancel out the brake lights and the turn signals, since they use the same circuits. The normal taillights use a different filament in the same bulb, which is why they light up brighter when you press the brakes. The aftermarket has come up with replacement switches in response to these inherent problems, so do not get your switch from GM. Places like RockAuto.com will sell these, though not necessarily this place, it's just the one I use. Usually, GM put these in the steering column, so replacement can be tricky for the average person, as it involves taking apart some of the steering column.

3-22-12 Mechanic thought he had found the problem, which was a gear sensor. Because the fuse blows when he put the car in gear, but today when i went to pick it up, I put it in drive and it blew the # 10 fuse again. This is getting to be ridiculus. Please, any advise would be appreciated.
