I need diagrams of the vacuum lines and also electic wiring. I do not have vacuum to the water control valve that goes to heater core. The engine backfired and I found a vacuum leak on the rear of the intake manifold.I could not find any lines that might have come off,so I just plugged it off. Can this be part of the problem.

this is actually a wire problem.
get the necessary wires replaced. and then get back with results

Try cleaning the tube and manifold where they connect (use small wire brush or?). I would try using JB Weld @ the fitting before i would even consider a new intake. Water pressure in the cooling system shouldn't be much over 15-18 lbs. so doing this quick fix should solve the problem.

yes about the upper intake and the only way i know how to check the coils is with a engine anilyser or if the check engine light comes on then you can have the codes pulled and that will tell you which cylender is missfiring this engine has a indevidual coil for each spark plug so thares 6 of them and thay slide right down over the sparkplugs

Dear FixYa,
Thanks for the past help but at $10-$20 a question keeping my old car running can get expensive. And it would be an abuse of your help to send in a long, multi problem message to get away with one payment. Yes, you are cheaper than going to a commercial garage but the point of using the internet is to find the best and cheapest.
