Car has been running great. Came out from work and it wouldn't start. Appears light may have been left on. Tried to jump and it cranks but won't turn over. Took out battery and it tested bad. Replaced with new one and it cranks but will not start. Any thoughts on what could be wrong?
I need year--make--model? If it cranks good but won't start, check the basics. Have a helper crank it while you check for spark at the plugs, gasoline engine. If spark everywhere use a gage and check proper fuel pressure and fuel injector pulse. Any applicable trouble codes?
Sometimes if battery voltage is lost, it may effect your security system, where applicable?
Have someone check the fuel pump relay ,what type of car is it
SOURCE: Engine will not start/adio does not work but int/ext lights ok
this is most likely the battery protection relay, this is part of the lighting control module (LCM/GEM), your dealer can test test it but the issue may have been related to the cold, this module controls almost everything except the engine and trans.

Right off i would say its ignition switch. If you got a test light ground it to the neg. post of battery and have someone turn the key to start position while you hold test light on small post on starter if it does not light test light than its ignition switch thats bad. If it lights you got defective starter. My guess its the starter switch. It should be under dash on steering colume.

Ive got a Jetta 2 CSI and had the same trouble. I then discovered that my coldstart packed up, wich you cant even get at the agents anymore. So If you are in the Benoni area I can fix it for you for 'n reasonable price, and you won't have that trouble any longer. Mine is still starting by just touching the key. 0829484343

tap on starter with hammer if starts replace starter
First thing to check is turn
your key on and look for a amber light that say check engine. Make sure that
light come on and go out after about 3 to 15 sec with the key in on position. If
you don't have the light on the most likely your car computer do not get power
recheck the fuses and fusible link.
If you have the light on then
listen to the fuel pump running when you turn the car on, it should run for
about 3 sec. and turn off. If you don't hear the sound of the fuel pump then it
would be your fuel pump or relay. obd2 scanner tool
