1984 Dodge Rampage Awful Smell and will no longer start

My rampage is pretty hard to start, I have to pump the gas at least 7 times before it will start, but recently it has been emitting this pungent egg, fart-like smell. This happened before, and my dad thought it was the alternator burning the battery (which was covered in yellowish hardened goo), so we replaced the alternator. But now the smell is back and my car wouldn't start this morning, it wouldn't turn over. I'm wondering if the voltage regulator is separate from the alternator?

Am attempting to restart my '84 Rampage after it was sitting for 10 years. Previously I'd just put in a rebuilt engine and was having a oil puddle developing behind the engine. It, the oil puddle, caught...

If the leak was repaired then no, remember car was sitting so in order for it to leak it would have had to br running, also check all fluids and add fresh gas, may have to drain old gas,i would try to start it first before taking carb apart you may get lucky never know, worst case then take it apart if it doesnt run or start good, well good luck.
