1996 Aurora just clicks when trying to start

Whenever it wants, the car just clicks in the area of the starter. I replaced the starter last Sunday and it worked great until Saturday. Started doing it again. Jumping doesn't help. You can let the car sit an hour or two and it will start right up, no hesitation. Battery and alternator test good and cables are free of corrosion and OHM good.

We replaced starter and solenoid. The old starter bench tested good, but the armiture wasn't real consistent so they warranteed it. Bench tested the new starter and it worked great.

My oldsmobile aurora 1996 keeps saying low coolant level and is leaking.

It's the upper and lower manifold gaskets, take it to a service shop and get them to replace your manifold gaskets, it's not the water pump

My 1996 oldsmobile aurora wont start with a jump.it makes a clicking noise.what is it?alternator or starter?

Sounds like it would be the starter, but make sure you are using a good pair of jumper cables, and they are making a good connection to each vehicle. Also check to see that your battery terminals are tight.

95 Olds. Aurora - Starter clicks, does not turn over..

check the battery...maybe the amp hours is not
sufficient...not original recommended battery....inconsistency in starting...the solenoid is a switch...which may need cleaning....the starter motor may be full of carbon dust....causes a short to earth and pulls battery power on startup....a big neglected area in car maintenance...

1996 honda accord LX wont start came home fine last night. Just morning wont start. everything comes on lights, horn blows.... only a clicking noise when trying to start. Notice that battery cable was...

Try smacking the starter with a blunt object ( hammer or something ) Smack it several times while cranking. It may free up. Listen for the click at the starter. Its prabably a bad starter. Common symptom your describing. If it does start replace the starter.

Will not start

i suspect a faulty starter check for voltage output at the starter solenoid with a multimeter. or (shade tree) tap the starter with a hammer then attempt to start. if the vehicle starts after the tapping replace starter.

1995 Oldsmobile Aurora won't start

if the car sat for two years and was never started.... the motor could very well be seized.... to get at the starter .... is usually done from the bottom. If you can removed the starter... test it to see if it's working.... something else you can try if you can see the starter ... is to tap it gently with a hammer while someone attempts to start it...
