I cant get the interior lights to cut off on my van. constant dinging driving me NUTS!
If you remove the interior light fuse just to turn it off and to turn off the dinging noise then for sure this will drive you nuts, That fuse is part of the shift interlock, what this mean you wont be able to get the car out of park. That interior light and ding is part of the GEM module so you have to fix the problem,in the driver door panel part of the door lock assemble is the switch, either you disconnect that switch or you replace the switch.

Several things to check. Have the cooling system pressure checked. A quick and simple test. Puts system under pressure and helps to locate a leak. The coolant doesn't just go away, it's got to be leaking either externally or internally. Be sure that the radiator cap is checked too. It needs to maintain the proper pressure for the system
Sound like coolant is leaking on the exhaust system. This can result in the smell and you will not see a leak as it is evaporating when it hits the hot pipes.
Good Luck

the best way is to call Ford with your vin# and have them fax it to you or go in they can pull it up the in their computer by vin so there are no mistakes/ Please rate my response thank you very much
Sound like one of the door jamb switches is bad. Try taking a pencil or screw driver and pushing in on each door switch. Push the switch beyond the "flush" point to see if the switch is just not fully closing.

It drove me nuts too. Fortunately, the solution is both cheap and simple. There is a latch mechanism in each side of the tailgate which gets all filled with dirt and slime. The latch jaws start to stick and dont move far enough to close the door ajar switch inside the tailgate Spray each latch generously with WD40, wipe the mechanisms off with a rag, close the tailgate, open the tailgate and repeat the cleaning several times. As soon as you get everything freed up, the switch will be able to report that the tailgate is closed and the problems will be gone. If you want, afterwards you can spray a little lithium grease on the latches to keep things running smooth. You may need to use a screwdriver to completely pry open the jaws in conjunction with opening the tailgate handle to get them to open fully while you are washing and wiping them off. Now's a real good time to lubricate all the door hinges and latches including the sliding door. May as well put some oil on the hood hinges and hood latch too. It's not impossible to keep Fords on the road....just tricky......very tricky.

Most probably...a loose electrical connection. Since you mentioned that the electrical power and the engine got cut off and after sitting for a brief of time, the van cranked back up. You need to check the wiring to see if there's any loose connection.
Here, I provided you the link where you can download the wiring diagram for your 2000 Ford Windstar:
